What is experiential learning?
•Learning by doing
The Brief
• Students in transition year, with no previous Art experience, were asked to choose an image from any period in Art history and to recreate the image in class
• A variety of research methods were used including the internet and the library.
• The chosen images were staged in class using props found there, the models come from among the students themselves.
outcomes
• Students enjoyed a new approach to art appreciation.
• Attendance improved in L.C.A.• Active learners well catered for.• Increased take up of art at senior cycle.• Increased understanding of the creative
process.
