WHAT IS EPIGENETICS

● The study of changes in gene activity that do not have

to do with change in actual DNA

● Traits which do not have any specific gene can be

observed and can be transfered to another generations

● relating to nature vs nurture

● Modification and activation of certain genes

● chromatin protein associated with DNA may be

activated or silenced

● This shows why differentiated cells in a multicellular

organism express only the genes that are important for

there own activity

will turn off the negative epigenome and turn on

the positive one...
