LABORATORY FACILITIES
EMTRC LABORATORY is recognized under Environment (Protection) Act, 1986.
The laboratory has facilities for testing of hazardous gases, noise, soil, sediments, metals, minerals, toxicity and biological studies, bio-monitoring of water bodies, bacteriological etc.
In order to ensure the 'Accuracy in measurements' following practices are followed:
1. Use of NIST traceable International Certified Reference materials as reference standards
2. Calibration of all Instruments & Glasswares used.
3. Staff training through various training programs, Quality control tests & tests undertaken based on theoretical & practical aspects.
4. Job authorizations is granted after training.
5. Use of Standard Operating Procedures.
6. Participation in various National/ International 'Proficiency Program'
The laboratory secured 100% marks in Proficiency Testing Program conducted by Central Pollution Control Board.

ACHIEVEMENTS OF EMTRC IN LAST 10 YEARS
1. Developed Environmental Laboratory for sampling and analysis of stack emissions,
ambient air, water & wastewater, equipment & ambient noise, soil, solid and hazardous wastes, TCLP, etc.
2. Laboratory is NABL Accreditation as per ISO-17025. Laboratory is recognized by
Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Govt of India under Environment Protection Act 1986 for a period of 5 years; 28-3-2019 to 27-3-2024.
3. Successfully conducted more than 100 Public Hearings and obtained Environmental
Clearance for various types of industrial, Mining and infrastructure projects, in a time
bound manner.
4. Conducted Carrying Capacity Study for sustainable industrial development of Raigarh
region and Anuppur Region.
5. Prepared City Action Plan for air quality improvement of Ahmedabad.
6. Developed expertise to conduct Risk Assessment Study and preparation of
Emergency Response Plan / Disaster Management Plan.
7. Developed capability for conducting Dispersion Modeling of air and water pollutants, incremental noise modeling and preparation of iso-concentration plot using GIS tools.
8. Developed expertise for satellite imagery studies, application of GIS tools for mapping
and sensitivity analysis of air and water pollution.
9. Developed capability for carrying out Human Health Exposure Assessment Study including Health Risk Modeling Study for polluted regions.
10. Developed expertise in conducting Performance Evaluation of water and air pollution
control devices.
11. Developed capability for conducting Environmental Audit including Audit of ODS
Phase-out programs under the Montreal protocol.
12. Developed Training Modules and capability to conduct awareness cum training
programs for capability development of environmental professionals.
13. Developed capability to undertake sponsored Research Projects on Sector-wise Inventorization of Industries, Estimation of Pollution Load, Design of Hazardous Wastes Disposal Site, Preparing Comprehensive Industry Documents.
14. Development expertise and modelling tools (CMB8) for Conducting Source
Apportionment Studies.
15. Regular Pollution Monitoring, Checking Control Systems and Advisory services for Large Construction Sites, like IGI Airport Expansion for the period 2007-2010 and 2019-2023 (ongoing project of Larsen & Toubro Limited)
