Healing Our Clients
Healing Ourselves
With a Body-Mind Approach That Goes
Beyond Talk
“In every culture and in every medical tradition before ours, healing was accomplished by moving energy.”
- Nobel Laureate in Medicine, Albert Szent-Györgyi
WHAT ARE EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUES (EFT)?
Often referred to as “tapping,” EFT is a highly focused, evidence-supported Energy Psychology (EP) approach that rapidly releases the emotional impact of stressful or traumatic life events from the mind-body system. Trapped negative emotions and their related energy disruptions are at the heart of hyper-arousal, inhibited functioning and performance, emotional disorders, and even some physical diseases.
As clients bring their attention to specific distressing memories and symptoms, practitioners walk them through a process of specific statements and tapping on acupuncture meridian points. This activation appears to reduce levels of stress while stimulating natural healing and processing functions.
After a session, clients commonly report reductions in symptoms, new insights, cognitive and emotional shifts. Using specific patterns of inquiry, practitioners continue this process through different associations and “aspects” of the distress until the client experiences deep relief, usually within a single session (per issue addressed).
EFT is such a straight forward approach to healing that the basic procedure can easily be taught to clients (even children) as a self-help and self-management tool. More sophisticated versions are valuable clinical tools in the hands of well-trained therapists and practitioners. Both approaches are taught in this hands-on workshop.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THESE WORKSHOPS? Forward-thinking psychologists, social workers, therapists, counselors and helping professionals who:
• Are looking for state-of-the-art therapy using the mind-body connection
• Want to bring rapid, deep and lasting relief to clients
• Want to successfully treat PTSD in as few as 6 sessions
• Understand that the healing relationship is necessary, but not always sufficient for true healing
• Enjoy using active and focused therapeutic approaches with their clients
• Want to significantly increase the value of their practice by providing a service for which clients are willing to pay out-of-pocket
“In the 21st century no psychologist, counselor, social worker, nurse or healing professional should be without at least one body-mind approach that is as effective as EFT.”
–Robert Schwarz, PsyD, Author of Tools for
Transforming Trauma

WHY STUDY WITH ACEP?Formed as a 501(c)3 non-profit in 1999, the Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology (ACEP) is dedicated to upholding Standards of Practice and a Code of Ethics in the field of energy-based psychotherapeutic modalities.
ACEP is the only organization of its kind geared toward serving licensed mental health professionals and allied health practitioners around the world interested in incorporating energy psychology into their work.
In 2012, ACEP became the first sponsor approved by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists studying energy psychology.
WHY THIS EFT TRAINING?This training is designed by Tina Craig to distinguish the original EFT instruction from the many variations that have developed since its inception. She is co-author with EFT Founder Gary Craig of the Official EFT Tutorial.
In this workshop you will acquire important foundational EFT strategies and processes to put you on a path of using EFT like its founder and master practitioner, Gary Craig. Additionally, you will learn how to avoid the pitfalls and shortcuts that undermine effective EFT practice.
This workshop lays the best foundation for seamless transition in to our professional certification program. For more information about certification, visit energypsych.org

THE RESEARCH ON EFT AND OTHER EP MODALITIESThere have been over fifty peer-reviewed studies conducted on EFT and other Energy Psychology (EP) modalities. Eighteen of these studies are Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs), 100% of which showed statistically significant results in favor of EP. These include one study showing EFT to considerably lower cortisol- related stress levels and self-reported psychological symptoms after a single treatment session. A second published RCT found that six sessions of EFT eliminated PTSD in 86% of veterans in the study. To read a comprehensive overview of EFT research findings, visit energypsych.org/research
BECOME CERTIFIED IN EFTFor those who wish to continue their training to greater competence, ACEP offers three levels of certification in EFT: Certified Practitioner, Certified Advanced Practitioner, and Certified Master Practitioner. For more info, visit energypsych.org/eftcert
