Head of Year

To the students of school, firstly I would like to thank you for being such fantastic pupils and giving your all in the past 5 years with us.

There have been some good times, some bad times and some times when we all wanted to give up, however, you held it together, supported each other and came through the other side shining like stars in a night sky. We teachers cannot take all the credit for success’ that you have had and will go on to have, you have proven yourselves to be grown up beyond

your years and a throughly hard working group of people. You will face many challenges out there in the world, but I am positive that you will succeed no matter the obsticles placed in your path.

We will all remember the trips we had here at school. South Cerney, where we discovered it was almost impossible to stay dry and mud free, even when indoors. The Spanish trip where the teachers spent a lot of time trying to order things in Spanish and trying not to lose any of our group (failing miserably on both counts I might add). The history trips, the geography trips, the suposedly academic trip to Cadbury World in Birmingham where some people ate so much chocolate we teachers spent the journey back making sure the coach was stopped in time to get those feeling a little worse for wear off before any accidents occourred.

We will also remember the charity days with smiles on our faces, the costumes by some were pure genius. Pirates having sword fights, devils, maidens, rabbits and a whole host of other costumes making the field and dinner hall at lunch time look like a story book had exploded at our school. Due to your immense efforts and enthusiasm we managed over the years to raise spectacular amounts of money for various charities. Thinking of others and doing good whilst having a good time was a standard way of life at this school, and your teachers could not be prouder of you.

And so, we all hope that you will leave this school with many happy memories, and hope that you will always look back on your time here with fondness and a smile, as this is how we will remember you. We also hope you will pop back from time to time and let us know how you are doing out there in the big wide world, show us what you have gone on to achieve and give us all a reason to keep on teaching.We will miss you terribly and feel sad to say goodbye, however, we also feel proud to have been a part (however big or small) of your lives and to have had the privilege to teach you.
