EAGLE SYNDROME

A 70-year-old black woman was seen at Temple Dental School for evaluation of a sharp infrequent pain extending from the right mandibular angle to the origin of the sternocleidomastoid for the past year. She had no pain on swallowing or limitation of head movement.

Routine panoramic radiography revealed a grossly enlarged styloid process consistent with Eagle syn- drome (Fig. 1).
