Jaime's Corner

What a joy it is for Rachelle, me and the Healing Music ministry team(Evelyn and Kim), to wish you and your family a CHRISTmas season, and a2015 filled with blessings from our Lord!

I want to take this opportunity to apologize for not having sent out theNewsletter for the past 2 quarters. That means it’s been 6 months since ourlast one. Over the last few weeks, I’ve had a number of people ask what’sgoing on. And though I have no excuse, we have been extremely and

unusually busy these past months. This has contributed to my not beingfaithful and timely about getting the Newsletter put together. But I plan ondoing a better job henceforth! As I write this, I find myself flying home from Israel. You may recall that Imade an invitation in the March Newsletter for you to be a part of this tour.Gifted speaker, pastor, writer and professor Andy Nash, who has been takinggroups of believers seeking a closer walk with Jesus to the Holy Land for thelast few years, invited me to be a part of his tour from Nov. 20-30. I hadnever been, and everyone I talked to that has gone told me it was anunforgettable experience. This is exactly what my own father had said to merepeatedly, as he has been there a number of times himself. So my interestwas piqued. As Andy and I spread the word, dozens of people began to call in, inquire, and ultimately begin to book their space on our tour. And then some of theworst violence in years broke out. People began to cancel. While Iunderstand, I knew from the get-go, that I could and would never allow fearto stop me from going. On our side was (and IS) the most powerful being inthe universe! How could I allow those who are trying to spread hatred andfear to win? Ultimately, we had 45 people in our group.

A spectacular view of old Jerusalem

The Garden of Gethsemani

The tomb of King David

I can honestly tell you that this trip was one of the greatest experiences of mylife! Perhaps over the next couple of Newsletters I will share with you, or asksome of our participants to provide additional narrative on our experience. But for now, let me focus on 2:

1. MasadaThe year was 1981. Not long after my family arrived from Cuba, I rememberwatching this epic, 4 part mini-series on television. I was only 11 years old,but it made a profound influence in my life. I didn’t know anything about thehistorical context of this mini-series, but of course I knew that Israel had beenGod’s chosen people, and that Rome had achieved an iron rule over Israel. InAD 70, a group of Zealot Jews escaped the siege of Jerusalem and took upresidence in Masada, the royal hideaway fortress built by King Herod theGreat (between 37 and 31 BC). It took Roman governor Flavius Silva with10,000 soldiers, auxiliary units and slaves between 18 months and 3 years tobreach the fortress. But when he reached the top, the approximately 1,000people living there had committed suicide, preferring death at their ownhands than slavery and worse at the hands of the Romans. It was during the airing of the miniseries that I told myself- “one day, I willvisit Masada”. And so you can imagine how my heart raced when westepped onto the cable car that brought us up. As I walked around thefortress, I was struck by the grandeur of the surrounding mountains. As bigand great as man’s work may seem, it is still incomparable to God’smagnificence, power and handiwork.

2. Via DolorosaAs our group walked slowly and quietly down (and sometimes up) the ViaDolorosa, Andy asked me if carrying my violin was becoming burdensome. Itold him that it felt like nothing compared to what Jesus must’ve gonethrough carrying the cross to his death, after being flogged. When our groupwent inside St. Anne’s Church, in the (supposed) area where the virgin Marywas born, our group sang Amazing Grace, Andy shared a powerful messageof reflection, and I played the song Via Dolorosa. During this time, Jesus’sacrifice became more real to me than ever before. When I finished playing,I knelt down and began to cry. I was overcome with sorrow thinking about

what Jesus endured because of me, and with joy at the thought that we are soprecious that He was willing to give His life so we could have the giftsalvation. Hallelujah!

As I close, Rachelle and I invite you to seek and obtain a closer walk withJesus during this Season. May we focus on Him, and the great privilege weall have to share the Good News with a dark and sin-sick world! With joy and gladness, Jaime

GUEST MESSAGE

Dear Jaime,

I just saw one of your interviews on TV. I appreciated the testimony of yourexperiences. You have no idea how much your music was a blessing to myfather and our family.

About 2 years ago my father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Duringhis last days on this earth, we played your DVD's 24/7 to help calm him downfrom the constant pain that racked his body. The hymns you played broughthim comfort. Even when he slipped into a coma, if we turned off the musiche somehow knew it. That's why we played it all the time. (Although myfather learned to love violin music, it was only through your expertise thatthis came about.)

Dad died (date omitted), despite going through chemo therapy.

Please know that you and your music have been an inspiration to all of us.

LA Greetings, I first would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Jaime for so faithfullyexercising stewardship over the gift(s) God has given him. Each time we hearhim, Sue and I say, "He is better than the last time we heard him." I do notknow if he'll ever arrive at the place where we can say he's at his best. Thereare some events that cannot adequately be put into words--a Jaime Jorgeconcert is one such events. But the greatest thought regarding his time spentwith friends and members of Grace Bible Fellowship Church is that heministered to everyone. There's been a godly buzz all week from those whohave been blessed. His love for Jesus is seen as paramount! Please tell Jaime and Rachelle how much we enjoyed our all-too-brief timetogether Sunday afternoon. God's blessing to Jamie and Rachelle. I willcontact several pastors (of larger churches) personally and forward theirnames to you. Give me about a week to adequately do this. In Christ, Dr. GR Dear Jaime Jorge, Today I listened to some of your music on YouTube, and I felt the Holy Ghostcome upon me. When you play this heavenly music there are mighty Angelsof God standing right next to you! Glory to God!!!!! PJ
