Detection of Low Energy Particle

EURONS-JRA4 DLEP

EURONS PCC & GA meeting, Helsinki 2007Olof Tengblad, JRA-04 DLEP

• Year 1– Test of Si materials and methods √– algorithm development for Particle Identification √

• Year 2– Design of prototype detectors, beam tests in Madrid and Århus. √– Fast preamplifier development, multiplexing, √– Prototype preamplifier and detectors √

• Year 3– Prototype detectors and electronics to be tested on-line @ ISOLDE and JYFL.

October 2007

Workplan 3 year running

period

The monolithic detector was delivered, together with the associated multiplexed electronic in August 2007. An experiment IS417 “study of charge particles from exotic Li isotopes” using these detectors and electronics is scheduled for October 2007. •The data has to be analyzed and evaluated.•We need to further map the detector response to particles of different mass at the tandem accelerator.•Prepare the final reportWe thus ask to be allowed for a prolongation of the project for 1 more year. The participants have funds reserved for this action, why no extra funding is requested.
