According to statistics from the U.S. Secret Service & the U.S. Dept. of Ed., at least one other person had some prior knowledge of an attacker's plan in 81% of incidents. In 59% of incidents, more than one other person had some prior knowledge. Of those incidents where another person knew about the attack in advance, 93% of those people were the attacker's friend, schoolmate or sibling.
