Two poor children were sitting by the fire in their poor little house. The children
were sad as it was Christmas time and they did not have friends to celebrate.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Both the children rushed to open the
door. In the cold night, a poor child stood outside their door. He had no shoes and
his clothes were torn.
Both the children welcomed the stranger happily. They shared their dinner and
gave him warm clothes to wear. They played and talked. Then the children gave
their warm bed to the boy and themselves slept on the floor.
Suddenly, there was a loud noise of drums, music and many children were
knocking at the door. Both the children ran to open the door and were surprised to
see that the stranger boy was again standing at the door and looking like an angel.
The stranger boy said – “You are such a lovely children, you treated me so well, I
am an angel and now, here to reward you.” Both the children were happy.
The angel broke a branch from fir tree and planted it near the house. The branch
grew into a great tree and every year it bore golden fruits for the kind children.
