CLINICAL TEACHING PLAN
Description of Learners:
The students are in their second year in nursing. They are in their early adulthood whose ages ranges from 17- 35 and consist of 10- 12 persons in each
group. Majority of them come from middle- income families living in urban, periurban and rural communities. Some are married but most of them are single. All of
them have the desire to practice their chosen profession after graduation and likewise dream to work abroad and be competent nurses someday. All of them are full
time students with heavy subjects load, having classroom lectures parallel to their clinical work.
They have been exposed to hospital clinical areas and community. Likewise, they were oriented to the physical set- up and policies of the hospitals they are
affiliated with.
Focus of Clinical Experience:
Care of pregnant mothers in their intrapartal state.
Setting:
Clinical experience takes place on a hospital setting at Piddig District Hospital , Ilocos Norte.
The town is situated in the easternpart of Laoag City passing through the Municipality of Sarrat. Most of the population is engaged in farming since the
barangay have vast agricultural land.
Briefing/ Orientation:
1. Explain objectives, requirements, and activities to students.2. Orient to physical set- up of the hospital
3. Introduction and establishing a good and trusting working relationship with the hospital staff.

5. Explain the method of evaluating the students.
