In the past, the “masonry stove” was inevitably associated with tiles
(ceramic tiles). There were no water-based heat exchangers or other
storage devices which were quite as good at absorbing, storing and
radiating heat.
According to Wikipedia, tiles are most often fired and glazed objects
made of clay, also used to clad (masonry stoves). This type of stove is
today described as such either because it is still a real masonry stove,
or because it is a customary description of a specific design, or because
the heating insert was tested as a masonry stove insert.
The operating principle remains unchanged, but the unit does not
always have visible tiles:
Wood is burnt as economically as possible in a fireplace insert. The
radiant heat produced via the viewing glass is radiated directly into
the room.
The produced hot flue gases are not directed directly into the chimney,
but rather cooled via intermediate ceramic or metallic reheating surfaces
and storage media. The heat thus stored is radiated into the installation
space or conducted to adjacent rooms for a long period afterwards.

The Nova F-Air masonry stove heating insert is intended for new
construction of a storage heating fireplace unit. Our masonry stoves
are fitted with double-glazed heating inserts with infrared-coated
glass to reduce loss of direct radiant heat through the viewing glass.
Combined with modern faceplates, the masonry stove loses the typi-
cal, somewhat traditional and conservative look of heating inserts,
transforming it into an impressive ornament in your room ambience.
Our allusion to the word “renovation” is intentional. The Renova B-Air
is an exchange unit for existing masonry stove inserts. The dimensions
of the heating inserts, designed to meet the latest demands of speci-
fications and design, suit the existing installation or recessed frames.
This reduces installation time and soiling of the working area.

The visual appearance of the surfaces resembles the exotic
woods zebrano and Macassar. A somewhat relief-like texture
lends the surfaces a feel of genuine value. In combining the
materials, the company‘s designers were leaning on the exi-
sting contrast of the veneer imitation.

The Aquaboxes are primarily distinguished by their flexibility
through additional uses in numerous fireplace inserts of varying
geometries. Similar to the water-bearing fireplace inserts, the
ascending smoke gases from the chimney are used by the
Aquaboxes to heat the flowing water, and re-integrate it into
the heating circuit.
In this way you’ll be supporting your hot water production and
at the same time heating other rooms.
The facts are thus clear: You’ll save electricity, oil or gas, and
save money.

Varia H2O – THE ALTERNATIVE HEAT USE
Fireplace inserts are veritable power plants. The H2O fire-
place inserts are supplied with a lift-up or fold-away door,
and are equipped with an integrated water jacket heat
exchanger for integration into the heating system. This
combines exclusive design with innovative technology. A
high degree of water effectiveness (50-80%) satisfies all
needs, yet still provides a full fire experience. The patented
thermal discharge safety device with gravity circulation
protects against possible hazards in the event of a power
cut.
The H2O fireplace inserts ensure consistent heat removal.
In normal operation, the heat exchanger transports the
heating water through a return pipe with circulation pump.
It is then heated in the side water compartments and in
the actual exhaust gas heat exchanger until it leaves the
fireplace insert through the supply pipe and is fed into the
heating network.

H2O – THE ALTERNATIVE HEAT USE
The Mini Z1 H2O is particularly suitable for the usage in a low-
energy passive house, as only 20% of the heat output is emitted
into the equipment room.
The Mini H2O models and all Xl and XXl variants are equipped
with a combination of double-glazing and IR reflective surfacing.
This reduces direct heat emission to the equipment room and
prevents leakage of precious energy. The increased combustion
chamber temperature (water jacket insulation) will also allow
you to improve combustion economics and increase the water
heating percentage.

requires our ideas to extract the best for you with
little expense.
Our heat storage products provide a complete new
possibility for heat storage. The Thermoboxes and Helix
offer optimum flexibility with maximum benefit.
Highly compressed, fired storage material is used as a
thermal mass in your chimney system. During firing,
the heat is stored there to be slowly re-emitted after
the fire has been extinguished.
You can noticeably reduce your power costs, and pro-
tect the environment at the same time!

Helix (Greek = coil, spiral) offers what is
probably the most unique heat storage so-
lution ever offered for our fireplace inserts.
The hot flue gases wind through the Helix,

– THE MODULAR HEAT USE
The area of usage of Magnetherm
storage stones N1 and N2 includes hot air
systems, accumulator/hot air combi-systems,
hypocaust systems, or closed systems.
The stones are distinguished by their high
density and mass (2.8 kg/dm3 – similar to
soapstone). The more thermal mass surroun-
ding your fireplace insert, the more heat can
be stored.
The custom-fit groove and tongue system
allows the Magnetherm stones to be arbitra-
rily combined with one another, whereby the

Fuel in the form of wood has the priceless advantage of
being renewable, locally available, and CO2-neutral. However,
there is still the same problem as for most combustion pro-
cesses: Exhaust gases and sooty particles are generated.
Modern Spartherm fireplace inserts comply with the strict regulations of the BImSchV (Federal emissions
protection act) and may, if this act is passed according to the current status, be operated without time
restrictions. It is not Spartherm’s philosophy to just fulfil limit values. We want to look ahead innova-
tively and offer trend-setting combustion technologies.
Further improving quality of life is also important to us, which is why we have developed the Airbox,
a particle separator which bonds invisible respirable dust, and therefore contributes to keeping our
breathing air clean – an important concern for us and a step forward a cleaner future for you and your
