Integrated Community Sustainability Planning

and other confounding topics

Duvall Council Retreat February 20, 2010

Elizabeth Walker

Future Duvall Survey

Findings:Poor design – similar/duplicate questions; too long; open

query allowing for comments (cannot easily categorize or quantify for statistical relevance)

Open offering – true representation of community?Lack of Planning – what was the plan for the results?Interpretation of responses – too subjectiveWe have an obligation to report back to the participantsWhere do we go from here with no resources or

champion?

There is some value in the responses!

Economic Development

Economic Development Committee Unclear direction No leadership – no dedicated staff

City’s role in Economic Development Community expectationsYet we are motivated to increase commercial tax base

Challenges/Current Reality

No Funds for new programs

No available City Resources

No Clear Direction
