TRANSCRIPT
CORONORY ANGIOGRAPHYDEFINITION: coronary angiography is an x-
ray examination of the blood vessels or chamber of the heart . A very small tube [catheter] is inserted into the blood vessel in upper thigh [groin area ] or arm. The tip of the tube is positioned either in the heart at the beginning of the arteries supplying the heart , and a special fluid [ called a contrast medium or dye ] is injected . This fluid is visible by x-ray and the pictures that are obtained are called angiogram .

PREPARATION OF THE CAGA .PREPARATON BEFORE CAG
:Explain the procedure to the patient and
patient party. :Take consent from patient and patient party.
Check for blood report , if not, send blood for
urea, Creatinine Blood grouping and serology.
Patient must be kept four hour NPM before procedure
PREPARATION OF CAGECG should be taken before procedure .
Prepare the site by shaving and painting
with antiseptic solution like beta dine solution .
An I|V Access should be inserted and kept ready .
Check for loose tooth or denture ,if the patient has a loose teeth tie up with a clean thread and if the patient has denture removed it and Hand over to patient party.
PREPARATION OF CAG Removed all the metal ornaments . Ask for any medicine allergy . Check for site infection or skin infection .
Check for blood report .
Check the pulsation at the puncture site .
Give psychological support.
Give pre –medication .
Connect the ECG And saturation probe
DURING THE PROCEDURE Procedure site .
Provide comfortable position in the cath lab
table . Observe the hemodynamic status of the
patient . Prepare the patient site fore access .
Check for any allergic reaction while contrast
is pushed.
AFTER PROCEDURE Removed the sheath .Tight dressing should be done .Check for any hematoma.Check for any bleeding .Check vital sign .Check pedal pulse .Patient shifted to the ward .
