•Made up of ice

•Summer temperatures average about -30 degrees…in the summer!!

•It is so cold, dry, and barren, that no one lives there permanently (only scientific bases)

Europe•6th largest continent (2nd smallest)•Has been the center of much of Western Civilization throughout the history of mankind•Is designated as a continent (for political reasons), but it is actually a peninsula•Borders the Atlantic Ocean (to the west), and the Arctic Ocean (to the north)
