Overview:TheComtéCheeseAssociation(CIGC)isthrilledtoofferanexcitingscholarshipopportunityfortheAmericanCheeseSociety’sCertifiedCheeseProfessionals™(ACSCCP™s).ComtéisaPDO(EuropeanUnionProtectedDenominationofOrigin)cheesethathasbeenmadeintheJuramountainregionofFranceforoverathousandyears.Thewinnerofthisscholarshipwillreceiveanall-expenses-paidtriptotheComtéregiontolearnfirst-handaboutthecheese’suniquehistoryandproduction,aswellastodiscovertheknow-howandcultureoftheregion.Thetripwilltakeplaceinthespringof2017(datesTBC).PastscholarshipwinnersincludeDevinLamma(WholeFoods),LisaFutterman(PastoralArtisanCheese,Bread&Wine),AmandaParker(Murray’sCheese)andLeslieUhl(DiBrunoBrothers).Toapply,ACSCCP™smustfillouttheentryformandanswerashortessayquestion(seeattached).Theessayswillbejudgedanonymouslyonthebasisofknowledgeandcreativitybyapanelofthreejudges,whowillselectthewinner.
