Things you should know about the curbside recycling program:
Use only the clear bags provided. Other bags will not be collected.
To ensure collection have your bags out by 8:00 a.m. on your scheduled day. (Not the night be‐fore to avoid theft)
Stomp plastic bottles, jugs, aluminum/steel cans flat to save room in bags
If your sanitation services are collected from your alley, call for correct placement of recycling
NEED MORE BAGS? Use the yellow reorder sticker provided with the bags. You may also request bags on‐line at cstx.gov/recycle or by calling, 764‐6228.
Not Listed? Ask! Recycling Coordinator, 979.764.6229
Holiday Schedule No recycling collection on observed days:
Memorial Day 4th of July (Independence Day)
Labor Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day
Bag & Tie TRASH won’t Fly Automated Garbage Collection is pro‐
vided once a week. Each residence is provided an automated garbage cart that should be rolled to the edge of the curb by 8 a.m. on the scheduled day. All garbage placed in the cart MUST BE BAGGED. City Ordinance requires carts to be re‐moved from the curb within 12 hours of collection.
Brush Up on Brush Collection College Station offers weekly Clean
Green Brush Collection. Heavy brush collected is taken to the Bryan Compost Facility to be shredded and composted, or recycled into a soil amendment or natural fertilizer. College Station supports the Don’t Bag It! Lawn care program by encouraging citizens to leave grass clippings on the lawn.
Bulk Item Collection College Station provides weekly
bulky item pick up. Bulky items include items too large to fit in your garbage cart such as kitchen appliances, furniture, and flattened cardboard. ALL REFRIGERATORS, FREEZERS, & AIR CONDITION‐ERS MUST HAVE FREON EXTRACTED BY LICENSED HVAC PROFESSIONAL PRIOR TO PICKUP. Place bulky items within 3 ft of the curb in a location eas‐ily accessible to the collection vehicle and sepa‐rated from brush piles or recycling bags. To locate facilities accepting Freon or donation facilities for reusable items visit our online Recycling Directory. (www.cstx.gov/recycle). cstx.gov/recycle
