In 2013, the Massachusetts Legislature established a Coastal Erosion Commission toinvestigate and document the levels and impacts of coastal erosion in the Commonwealth andto develop strategies and recommendations to reduce, minimize, or eliminate the magnitudeand frequency of coastal erosion and its adverse impacts on property, infrastructure, publicsafety, and beaches and dunes.
