Changing the Parameters

• Tau-Fi• Tau-Si• Fast sodium channel vs calcium channel

Tip Trajectory Data

.The tip trajectory graph shows the shape of the tip in a given simulation.

.The X axis represent various TSI values and the Y-axis represent the TFI values.

.An important point to notice is that when TFI>.20 and TSI> 1.5, the simulations do not produce stable spiral wave.

Difficulties in Running Simulations

• The computers were slow at time, but the super computers really helped.

• Changing the parameters at the end of every simulation was very tricky especially having to remember to “clean” after every simulation.

• We were not able to run all the simulation( total of 49). We had about half of the simultations.

Questions we have

• Why is the spiral wave unstable ( start to break up) when TFI>.20 and TSI>1.5.

• What cause the spiral wave to start with one tip and then finish as two tips.

• What is the future of 4vmodel

Our Experiences at CMACS

• It is a great experience working with accomplished people in their fields such as Mr Flavio Fenton, great speakers such as Mr Glimm.

• More importantly it been very great meeting and working with student from different academic background.

• Learning is so great and challenging when the subject in questions are new

Conclusion

• We are very happy to be part of this CMACS workshop.

• This workshop would not have been the same with the amazing help of Professor Nancy Griffeth, Flavio Fenton, Robert Gilmour, Teri Grosso, Ezio Bartocci, Kai Zhao, Rupinder Shingh and Joshua Rogers. We Thank you for your help.
