CLASS PROPHECY

It’s already bright outside when I woke up

I glimpsed at my Rolex watches and I found out that it was almost 10am.

It was the first time in my life to wake up late

I usually wake up at 5:30am to make myself ready for work in the most prestigious company in the Philippines:

the VILO Company.

I left my bed, knelt down and whispered a silent prayer.

I thank Him and asked for His guidance.

After I prayed, I remembered what was

happened to me last night.

I was awarded as theMost Outstanding Engineer of the Philippines

for working for almost 10 years as an Electrical Engineering Manager.

As a recognition of my hard work and loyalty to my company, I was given one month

paid vacation leave for me to relax and unwind while traveling around the world.

Feeling hungry, I went into my kitchen and drank a cup of tea.

After that, I sat on my couch and read the news for today.

The headline on the front page of the newspaper caught my attention

which reads…

“Department of Energy USec Idamar F. Pelegrino approved a P20-billion project”

Yes, Engr. Idamar Pelegrino was appointed by the President as the Undersecretary of

Department of Energy.

She’s the president of Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) and the former

President of MERALCO.

As I read further the details of the news…

I found out that Engr. John Dale C. Fuentes is owner of the contractor of the said project.

Suddenly my phone rang.

I answered the call. It’s a representative of Apitong’s Group of Airline Companies. She said that there’s someone who will

fetch me from my house.

The company is owned and managed by

Engr. John Mark S. Apitong.

I prepared myself andI grabbed my High-Definition camera.

I stepped out from my condo and waited for a couple of minutes for my service to arrive.

I was stunned by a shining silver-colored Subaru moving fast towards me. My amazement grew even

more when my college classmate will be the one who will take me to the International Airport for my

trip to Paris.

It’s Engr. Rufino G. Jordan Jr.

On our way to airport, I was pleased to hear on the car radio that Engr. Herle June C. Capeñanes had won the bidding for a 1.5 billion project in Iloilo.

On the airport, while I am waiting for my flight,I sat down on a bench at the premises.

Sitting beside me is Engr. Romeo P. Morenowho has a business trip to London.

We stayed in the airport’s lobby while waiting for our flight.

Then we watched at a television from afar.

We were amazed as we saw Engr. John Mark A. Gregoriodelivering his victory speech

He is the head coach of Western Visayas Volleyball Team. And his team won lately in the Philippine

Volleyball League for five consecutive years now.

It was held at Brgy. Bakhaw, Mandurriao, which is now the center of trade and industry

in Iloilo.

After a while, my name was announced. And as I am entering the private plane, I am confident

that I am secured, because my college classmate designed and

maintained the aircraft

It was Engr. Kris Jay Lizada.

While the crews are getting ready, I looked for some international magazines to entertain myself.

I grabbed one magazine, and I was shocked because I am staring at a familiar face on its cover

It was Engr. Jhanfed A. Gaan.

One of the highest-paid model of Dolce and Gabbana. It was also stated that he’s the Executive Vice President of the

said brand.

An hour later, a flight stewardess named Engr. Milly L Natinga brought me a very delicious cup of coffee.

I really appreciated the taste. I asked her what brand of coffee they were serving.

She told me that it was made in province of Iloilo by the largest coffee manufacturer owned and managed by

Engr. Rey J. Fernandez.

Arriving at the city of Paris, I was stunned by the huge Billboard beside the welcome arc of

Paris.

It was Engr. Jim E. Colladoa multi-awarded bodybuilder and a WWE

wrestler with ten world-championship titles.

Feeling tired due to long hours of travel, I decided to go to one of the most visited spa and salon in Paris

which owned by Engr. Elna A. Baito,in partnership with Engr. Bush H. Bonites.

They studied cosmetology in America after passing the EE board Examination ten years ago.

After relaxing at the said spa, I decided to eat at the finest restaurant in Paris owned by

Engr. Roberto G. Barela Jr.

As I am waiting for my order, I heard two businessman having a conversation about the launching of their newly-

constructed underwater generator of their own companies, which is a well-known generator supplier in the world in

terms of quality operations.

Curiously, I walked towards them and find out that they were…

Engr. John Vincent T. Agranteand

Engr. Kimberly C. Cabillete.

The next day, I booked a flight and headedto the City of Los Angeles in California, USA.

I roamed the city and visited the Hollywood Walk of Fame. A famous street in L.A. because of the names that were

embedded on the floor.

I began reading aloud each famous name one by one. Then I suddenly stopped.

Dennis T. Cataluña

The box office king of 2023, Oscar awardee, and an in-demand Basketball coach.

San Francisco wasn’t that far from L.A.I passed by a Filipino lounge at the downtown

where I met…

Engr. Stephen S. SomongcadHe told me that he took his master’s degree

at Harvard University,

where Engr. Dean S. Descalsota Jr.is working as the Dean of College of

Engineering.

After our conversation, I headed to the hoteIwhere I will be staying that night

It is one of the most prestigious and elegant7-star hotel owned by…

Engr. Iver John U. Pait.

While having a rest at my unit,I browsed my Facebook feed in my iCeal Laptopwhich was given to me by the owner himself.

Engr. Iceal A. Benliro, the founder of one of the biggest laptop

manufacturers in the Philippines and also one of the hottest bachelor in our batch.

I found out in my notification that…

Engr. Prymrel Bryan R. Molina, an Engr. who is also a popular music artist,

is going to marry his long-time fiancée…

Engr. Joy Mae S. Suerte, who owns one of the Engineering Firms in the

Philippines, and a model of Victoria Secret Underwear.

Their wedding was scheduled two days after my arrival at Molina’s Mansion at Guimaras Island.

As I wanted to come back the Philippines, I decided to take on a cruise ship.

After buying my ticket, I walked inside the ship. There were lots of successful Filipino seafarer like…

Engr. Hector S. Arnaiz, Engr. Jenrry Paul M. Monares,

Engr. Joemer C. Flores, Engr. Bernadin B. Lorca,

who assists…

Engr. Roel S. Paampagas the Chief Engineer of Harder Cruise,

one of the biggest shipping Line in the Asia owned by…

Engr. Cherry Lyn H. Salem.

The ship landed at the port of Iloilo. We wave each other goodbye and went on our own way.

Before going to Guimaras, I wandered the city of Iloilowhich was already called the

“Queen City of the Philippines”.

I saw many high-rise buildings

and even flying cars.

I also passed by my Alma Mater, Western Institute of Technology,

which became the most outstanding school in the Philippines in terms of its academic excellence and alumni.

While waiting for the departure of the motor bangkagoing to Guimaras…

There is a guy riding on his motor bike approaching the terminal.

His face is familiar to me.I was amazed that he is…

Engr. Carlo Jame I. Bandoja. He told me that he is now the owner of the Honda

Philippines Inc.

On the way to the mansion, where the garden wedding will be held, we passed by the new school in Guimaras

named Guimaras Institute of Technology. It was founded by…

Engr. Rafael Patrick June A. Estorque.

When we arrived at the mansion, the ceremony is about to start.

Engr. Mitchell V. Villador, now a singer-idol in Italy began to sing romantic serenades.

Since the godparents were the first to walk the aisle,Engr. Arlo Jay D. Labindao,

Engr. Mark John C. Dela Peña,Engr. Sed John Penetrante

slowly marched with their partners.

while the groom, Engr. Molina was waiting at the altar.

and last came Engr. Joy Mae A. Suertewho was in tears of joy and walking down the aisle.

After the ceremony, we proceed to the wedding reception that to our surprise, became an alumni

homecoming.

We talked a lot of things just like the status of our classmates…

Engr. Art Ful A. Costanillawas awarded as PBA coach of the year.

Engr. Julie A. Capitpit andEngr. Arvin N. Muyong

who pooled all their knowledge to build a 200-storey building that became the highest building ever built in Panay Island

Engr. Fernando G. Gadong Jr, who became the youngest PEE in Philippine history,

and luckily….

He was selected to replace Coco Martin in a Philippine teleserye,

And he is also a multi-awarded actor in Philippine cinema.

Engr. Goodwell Richard G. Segutierand Franc Pol B. Bejo

are both corporate businessmen and they are engaging as traders in the Philippine Stocks

Exchange.

The last but not the least, a black Mercedez Benz arrived in the reception.

It appeared that Justin Bieber is the escort of the owner of this car…

After 12 hours of preparing herself, this multi-billionaire lady got out from her car.

She was being guarded by her five personal bodyguards while she’s walking down the red carpet.

Cameras flashed all around her as the paparazzi screamed her name…

Engr. June D. Araneta

Even Coco Martin did not stand not to take pictures with her.

The party ended with the romantic kisses of the newly-wed couple.

I also expressed my gratitude to the kind services of Engr. Emmanuel V. Maigue,

because he is the DJ of the party.

Although I’m dizzy because of all the liquors I drank at the wedding reception, I still managed to walk and

locate my room.I quickly laid down to fall asleep.

I woke up very early the next day so I decided to take a quick hike for me to energize myself against hangover.

I returned to the hotel to pack my things, and for me to set my self ready to proceed with my trip.

As I stepped out from the hotel door, I saw…

Engr. Xeboy C. Chua, who owned one of the construction and electrical companies

in the Philippines, riding on his Nissan skyline.

He asked me if I could ride with him. I agreed.

On our way, I suddenly felt thirsty. We decided to have a break and to find a local store

where we could buy some drinks.

Luckily, we found a storeand we have bought something to drink.

When I was about to return to our car, I was shocked when a coconut fell down in front of me.

I almost cried to think that I am so lucky because it was a near-death experience.

I am thinking if the coconut really did fall down on its own.

I looked up.

And I was shocked of what I saw!

It’s Engr. Jumer V. Vilo,my former boss, a multi-awarded businessman,

a multi-millionaire,and the owner of VILO Company where I was working,

I watched him as he go down from the tree.

When he was already in front of me, I began to ask him so many questions.

That was when I knew that he already left the business world and let others run the company.

He decided to live happily with a simple life together with the girl he loved the most, and he added that…

“Happiness is not measured in terms of wealth, position and fame.

Rather, contentment and self-fulfillment are the definition of real success”.
