Clases Bíblicas – Bible Classes

• I. ¿Qué son? A. Hay varias “clases”: ancianos, jóvenes, mujeres jóvenes, esposos, hijos, padres, miembros maduros, miembros nuevos…

• I. What are they? A. There are several “classes”: elderly, young people, young women, spouses, children, parents, mature members, new members…

• B. Hay iglesias fieles que tienen clases bíblicas para los recién bautizados, como también para los recién casados. Es cosa común tener clases bíblicas para mujeres.

• B. There are faithful churches that have Bible classes for the recently baptized, as also for the recently married. It is common practice to have ladies’ Bible classes.

• C. La iglesia no hace las “clases”. Dios las hace y la iglesia las reconoce y hace arreglos para enseñar a los diferentes grupos.

• C. The church does not make “classes.” God makes them and the church recognizes them and makes arrangements to teach the different groups.

• II. Son autorizadas por el mandamiento genérico de enseñar la Palabra.

• II. They are authorized by the generic com-mandment to teach the word.

• A. 1 Tim. 3:15, la iglesia es columna y baluarte de la verdad.

• A. 1 Tim. 3:15, the church is the pillar and support of the truth.

• B. Efes. 4:11, 12, la iglesia debe edificarse por medio de la enseñanza.

• B. Eph. 4:11,12, the church should edify itself by means of teaching.

• C. Clases bíblicas son un método eficaz de llevar a cabo este mandamiento. Otros medios son la enseñanza por medio de la hoja impresa, radio o televisión, debates…

• C. Bible classes are an effective means of carrying out this command. Other means are teaching by means of printed page, radio or television, debates…

• Los que prohíben que la iglesia organice clases bíblicas son inconsecuentes porque emplean estos otros medios.

• Those who forbid the church to organize Bible classes are inconsistent because they employ these other means.

• III. Algunos se oponen a que la iglesia tenga clases bíblicas.

• III. Some oppose the church having Bible classes.

• A. Dicen que es una “Escuela Dominical” pero no practicamos ni defendemos tal cosa.

• A. They say that it’s a “Sunday School,” but we do not practice nor defend such a thing.

• B. La “Escuela Dominical” es una organización aparte de la iglesia misma, teniendo presidente o supervisor, secretario, tesorero, etc.

• B. The “Sunday School” is an organization separate from the church, having a presi-dent or supervisor, secretary, treasurer, etc.

• C. De ese arreglo no hablamos, sino simplemente del arreglo de una congregación de enseñar la Biblia a los distintos grupos de personas.

• C. We are not talking about that arrange-ment, but simply of the arrangement of a congregation to teach the Bible to different groups of persons.

• IV. Algunos se oponen a las clases bíblicas diciendo que estamos dividiendo la asamblea.

• IV. Some oppose Bible classes saying that we are dividing the assembly.

• A. Creen que la iglesia debe enseñar solamente en la asamblea.

• A. They believe that the church should teach only in the assembly.

• B. La Biblia no enseña eso. Pero no dividimos la asamblea. Llegamos aquí a las 10 (o las 7 el miércoles) y vamos directamente a las clases bíblicas.

• B. The Bible does not teach that. But we do not divide the assembly. We arrive here at 10 (or at 7 on Wednesday) and go directly to the Bible classes.

• C. Después, a las 11 (o a las 7:45 el miércoles) hay asamblea para el culto formal de la iglesia.

• C. Later, at 11 (or at 7:45 on Wednesday) there is an assembly for formal worship of the church.

• D. Dicen que solamente en la asamblea se puede enseñar, pero ellos enseñan no sólo en la asamblea, sino por medio de radio/TV, la hoja impresa, debates, escuela de cantos.

• D. They say that teaching can be done only in the assembly, but they teach not only in the assembly, but also over the radio/TV, printed page, debates, singing schools.

• V. También se oponen a que la mujer enseñe clases bíblicas.

• V. Also they are opposed to women teach-ing Bible classes.

• A. La mujer no debe enseñar o tener autoridad sobre el hombre, 1 Tim. 2:11, 12.

• A. The woman should not teach or have authority over the man, 1 Tim. 2:11, 12.

• B. Pero mujeres de edad deben enseñar a las mujeres jóvenes, Tito 2:3-5.

• B. But women of age should teach the younger women, Titus 2:3-5.

• C. Y, desde luego, pueden y deben enseñar a los niños.

• C. And, of course, they can and should teach children

• VI. Una clase bíblica es la misma si se enseña en el local o en otra parte.

• VI. A Bible class is the same if it is taught in the church building or at another place.

• A. La iglesia puede organizar clases bíblicas en cualquier sitio (hogares, salón público, parque, etc.)

• A. The church can organize Bible classes in any location (homes, public buildings, park, etc.)

• B. The opponents of Bible classes talk a lot about what’s “public” and what’s “private” but in reality what they have in mind is simply the church building.

• D. Cualquier estudio bíblico que tengamos es clase bíblica – alrededor de la mesa después de comer, o en el auto, o donde sea.

• D. Whatever Bible study we have is a Bible class – around the table after a meal, or in the auto, or wherever.

• VII. En lugar de prohibir clases bíblicas debe haber más clases bíblicas tanto en los hogares como aquí en estos salones.

• VII. Instead of forbidding Bible classes there should be more Bible classes, in the homes as well as here in these classrooms.

• A. Jueces 2:10. ¿Por qué había generación que no conocía a Dios?

• A. Judges 2:10, Why was there a generation that knew not God?

• B. Obviamente por no obedecer Deut. 4:9; 6:6, 7.

• B. Obviously because they did not obey Deut. 4:9; 6:6, 7.

• C. Oseas 4:6, mi pueblo fue destruido porque le faltó conocimiento.

• C. Hosea 4:6, my people were destroyed because they lacked knowledge.

• VIII. Sugerencias para mejorar nuestras clases bíblicas.

• VIII. Suggestions to improve our Bible classes.

• A. Enseñar con pleno conocimiento de la lección. Con convicción. Con entusiasmo, para que los personajes bíblicos cobren vida. Como la Palabra de Dios.

• A. Teach with full knowledge of the lesson. With conviction. With enthusiasm, so that Bible characters come alive. As the Word of God.

• B. Que la clase sea un libro bíblico o algún curso bíblico sistemático de estudio (por ej., las parábolas o los milagros de Jesús) que dura por lo menos tres o seis meses.

• B. That the class be a book of the Bible o some systematic, Bible course (for ex., the parables, the miracles of Jesus) that lasts for at least three or six months.

• C. Que haya tareas para que los alumnos, tanto adultos como niños y jóvenes, se preparen para la clase.

• C. Have homework so that the students, adults as well as children and young people, prepare for the class.

• D. Para esto toda la familia debe cooperar. Padres deben estudiar con sus hijos, para que aprendan bien el estudio. Explicar pala-bras, dar les información adicional.

• D. All the family should cooperate in this. Parents should study with their children, so that they will learn the study well. Explain words, give additional information.

• E. Enseñar a sus hijos cómo portarse en la clase: Llegar a tiempo, respetar al maestro (o la maestra), no jugar, poner atención, par-ticipar en el estudio para el bien de todos.

• E. Teach children how to behave in the class: Arrive on time, respect the teacher, not play, pay attention, participate in the study for the benefit of everyone.

• F. Que haya participación de todos en la clase. Si estudian en casa tendrán ánimo para participar, contestando preguntas y comentando.

• F. Everyone in the class should participate. If they study at home they will be enthusi-astic to participate, answering questions, and commenting.

• G. Temo que haya deficiencia en las clases por causa de la indiferencia de los padres hacia las clases de sus hijos, desde los pequeños hasta los más grandes.

• G. I fear that there is deficiency in the classes due to the indifference of parents toward the classes of their children, from the smallest to the largest.

• 1. En primer lugar, no estudian como deben para la su propia clase (la de los adultos).

• 1. In the first place, they don’t study as they should for their own class (the adult class).

• 2. Ni mucho menos toman interés en la clase de sus hijos. No estudian con ellos. No les dicen a respetar a los maestros. No les animan a participar.

• 2. Much less take interest in the class of their children. They don’t study with them. They do not tell them to respect their teachers. They don’t encourage them to participate.

• 3. Si es así, la clase bíblica no es un medio de edificación sino una mera formalidad.

• 3. If this is the way it is, the Bible class is not a means of edification but only a mere formality.

• H. Un gran error podría ser que los padres piensen: “Ya les enseñé eso, ya lo saben. Ellos saben de José, de David, de Daniel.”

• H. A big mistake would be that the parents think: “I have already taught them that, they already know it. They know about Joseph, David, Daniel.”

• Pero eso es como decir, “no hay que darles de comer, porque ya hace tiempo ya tomaron leche y comieron carne, frijoles y papas”.

• But that is like saying, “we don’t have to feed them, because a long time ago they drank milk and ate meat, beans and potatoes.”

• Si la repetición de la comida diaria es importante para el cuerpo, también es importante para el espíritu.

• If the repetition of daily food is important for the body, it is also important for the spirit.

• IX. No defraudemos a nuestros hijos espiritually. Hay que hacer más que traerlos a los servicios.

• IX. Let’s not defraud our children spiritually. We must do more than just bring them to services.

• A. Conocimiento bíblico es su herencia. Tienen derecho de recibir en su mente y corazón este tesoro. Lo necesitan como necesitan comida, ropa y atención médica.

• A. Bible knowledge is their inheritance. They have a right to receive this treasure in their mind and heart. They need it like they need food, clothing and medical attention.

• B. Niños y jóvenes modernos son enseñados por TV, amigos y a veces reciben enseñanza incorrecta en la escuela.

• B. Modern children and young people are taught by TV, friends and at times receive incorrect teaching at school.

• C. El objetivo es la salvación de nuestros hijos. Para cada clase, el domingo, el miércoles, que piensen los maestros: yo estoy haciendo algo muy importante.

• C. The objective is the salvation of our children. For each class, Sunday, Wednes-day, the teachers should think: I am doing something very important.

• Estoy preparando a estos niños o jóvenes para el Día Final, para el juicio de Dios. Quiero que vayan al cielo. No quiero que vayan al infierno.

• I am preparing these children and young people for the Final Day, for the judgment of God. I want them to go to heaven. I do not want them to go to hell.
