What is CIPTAA?

• an instructional module for using blogs to help ESL learners to enhance their writing fluency and written communication.

Instructional Procedures

CMC Stage

• Brief discussion on CMC or Computer-Mediated Communication or how communication could take place via networked telecommunication system.

• Evolution of Internet as a medium of communication

beginning with Web 1.0 to Web 2.0.

Introduction Stage

• Discussion on blog.

• Introduce www.technorati.com.

Pre-Blogging Stage

• Collect some photos from the Internet or by using their digital cameras.

Technical Stage

• Setting up a blog by using http://www.blogger.com.

Assignment Stage

• Assign topics that should be written about every week.

• Free writing in nature. Minimal focus on grammar. .

Assessment Stage

• Students blogs are assessed or evaluated by using a set of evaluation guidelines.

• Several aspects of blogs are evaluated namely accountability, quantity of posts and hits, visitor-friendliness and attractiveness.
