The Prophetic Birth of

JESUS CHRISTMatthew 1:18-25

NowthebirthofJesusChristwasasfollows:AfterHismotherMarywasbetrothedtoJoseph,beforetheycametogether,shewasfoundwithchildoftheHolySpirit.19 ThenJosephherhusband,beingajustman, andnotwantingtomakeherapublicexample,wasmindedtoputherawaysecretly.20 Butwhilehethoughtaboutthesethings,behold,anangeloftheLordappearedtohiminadream,saying,

“Joseph,sonofDavid,donotbeafraidtotaketoyouMaryyourwife,forthatwhichisconceivedinherisoftheHolySpirit.21 AndshewillbringforthaSon,andyoushallcallHisnameJESUS,forHewillsaveHispeoplefromtheirsins.” 22 SoallthiswasdonethatitmightbefulfilledwhichwasspokenbytheLordthroughtheprophet,saying:

23 “Behold, thevirginshallbewithchild,andbearaSon,andtheyshallcallHisnameImmanuel,” whichistranslated,“Godwithus.” 24 ThenJoseph,beingarousedfromsleep,didastheangeloftheLordcommandedhimandtooktohimhiswife,25 anddidnotknowhertillshehadbroughtforthherfirstbornSon. AndhecalledHisnameJESUS.

Unique among all books ever written, the Bible accurately foretells specific events-in detail-many years, sometimes centuries, before they occur. Approximately 2,500 prophecies appear in the pages of the Bible, about 2,000 of which already have been fulfilled to the letter—no errors.

Probability, also known as "odds", is a branch of mathematics that measures the likelihood that a given event will occur.

• Be struck by lightning in a year = 7 x 105 or 1 in 700,000

• Be killed by lightning in a year = 2 x 106 or 1 in 2,000,000

• Become president = 1 x 107 or 1 in 10,000,000

• Have a meteorite land on your house = 1.8 x 1014

or 1 in 180,000,000,000,000

• Win the Powerball = 2.92 x 106 or 1 in 292,000,000

• Be attacked by a shark (according to the U.S. Lifesaving Association) = 11.5 x 105 or 1 in 11,500,000

• You will eventually die = 1 in 1

Set out the odds of any one man in all of history fulfilling even only eight of the major prophecies (and 270 ramifications) fulfilled by the life of Christ.

To answer the question what is the probability of one man fulfilling all eight prophecies, the principal of probability is applied. Therefore, multiplying all eight probabilities together (1 times 2.8 x 105 x 103 x 102 x 103 x 103 x 105 x 103 x 104) gives us 2.8 x 1028, or for simplicity sake 1 x 1028 or

This is like covering the entire state of Texas 2 feet deep in silver dollars, marking one of them and telling a blind man to pick the marked silver dollar on the first try.

Dr. Stoner then computed the odds of one individual that could fulfill just 48 prophecies relating to Christ. He calculated the odds at 1 X 10157~ those odds are beyond human comprehension.
