IMPLEMENT

Give five back blows:

bend the person forward

give the blows between shoulder blades

Give five abdominal thrusts:

stand behind person

wrap arms around the waist

tip the person forward slightly

make a fist with one hand

position fist above person's navel

grasp the fist with other hand

press hard into the abdomen with a quick,

upward thrust

Refer to hospital, clinic or health centre

Give basic life support if unconscious

EVALUATION

Check back blow and abdominal thrust technique

Remain with the person until medical or

professional help arrives
