50 - 178Total Syntheses of Neuroprotective Mastigophorenes A and B. —The synthesis of precursor (VII) is achieved via enantioselective formation ofester (III) and intramolecular Heck reaction of iodide (IV). Horseradish per-oxidase mediated dimerization of (IV) gives a 1:2 mixture of the atropisomersmastigophorenes A and B.
