Earlier this week, he was named by Time magazine as one of the world's 100most influential people, and now the controversial Director of theEnvironmental Assessment Institute in Denmark, Bjoern Lomborg, is beingcompared to Hitler.

The offensive comparison was made by the leader of the UN'sIntergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Rajendra Pachauri.

Pachauri said that Lomborg's claim that the world cannot afford to saveindigenous peoples like the Inuits from the consequences of global warmingput him in line with Adolf Hitler.

"What is the difference between Lomnborg's philosophy of man and Hitler's,"asked Pachauri.

"Lomborg thinks of people in terms of numbers. He believes that it is cheaperto evacuate them than to fight global warming, and he has no respect for thesepeoples and their cultures. If one goes along with Lomborg's reasoning, thenHitler might have been on to something," Pachauri added.
