Annual costs of car ownership in the U.S. is over $7000

$7,754 in annual car costs takes 554 hours to earn. That's over three full months of work each year.

Will your “potential” car make you or break you???

Studies show the average driver has been getting only 75 percent or so of the mileage figures that are on the sticker of their new vehicle.

• So if you are supposed to get 30 miles per gallon, you could actually get 22.5 miles per gallon

*The current average gallon of gas costs 2.89/gal.

There were nearly 6,420,000 auto accidents in the United States in 2005.

About 115 people die every day in vehicle crashes in the United States -- one death every 13 minutes.

16-year-olds are 3 times more likely to die in a motor vehicle crash than the average of all drivers.

81% of teenage motor vehicle crash deaths in 2008 were passenger vehicle occupants.

Statistics show that 16- and 17-year-old driver death rates increase with each additional passenger (IIHS).
