Will robots ever become just like humans?
Daily scientists are experimenting and trying new software and are getting very close to building an almost human-like robot.
Robots can not reproduce however, they can look, act think, and feel like humans in every way.
Development of humanoid robots focuses on 3 major areas and that has all been used in making the Asimo robot.
Who is ASIMO ?Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility
A Japanese robot
He was worked on for more than 20 years, and published on 2000 but upgraded through out the years.
Asimo is able to work with humans in their daily environment.
What is he good at? Asimo is a humanoid robot that has achieved to:
Walk and run in a straight line
Make a turn and shift its weight
Jump and dance
It has got balance and agility
Walk up the stairs without any help
Kick a soccer ball
recognize voices and shake hands
Help people in their homes and office
Understand preprogrammed gestures and spoken commands
Recognize faces and voices
Interface with IC communication cards
ASIMO also does jobs that are too dangerous for humans to do
Hardware130 cm tall and 18 inches wide and
weights 54 KG.
Often referred to as looking like a "kid wearing a spacesuit,”
The material he is made of is magnesium alloy covered with a plastic resin, which makes ASIMO light in weight and compact.
He stores a battery on his backpack and weights about 13 pounds.
Software
Asimo is a rechargeable robot.
He has 3 indicator lights to show the state of operation.
Asimo has three sensors in his software to help him avoid obstacles:-
Ultrasonic Sensor
Ground sensor
Visual Sensor
Movement
Asimo’s skill of avoiding Obstacles using three types of sensors:-

Conclusion
Asimo has a hardware that allows it to have freedom in its movement and have different, allowing Asimo to have flexibility and fast changes in it’s body while still having the balance needed to do tasks .
