Hebrews 11:6

[6] And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe

that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Romans 10:17

[17] So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by

the word of Christ.

Romans 4:16-21

[16]  For this reason it is by faith, in order that it may be in accordance with grace, so that the promise will

be guaranteed to all the descendants, not only to those who are of the Law, but also to those who

are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all,

Romans 4:16-21

[17] (as it is written, “A FATHER OF MANY NATIONS HAVE I MADE YOU”)

in the presence of Him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to

the dead and calls into being that which does not exist.

Romans 4:16-21

[18] In hope against hope he believed, so that he might become a father of many nations according to

that which had been spoken, “SO SHALL YOUR DESCENDANTS BE.”

Romans 4:16-21

[19] Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about

a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah's womb;

Romans 4:16-21

[20] yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, [21] and being fully assured that what God had promised,

He was able also to perform.

1) Part of Faith is our Belief

With our head we must say, “I accept that.”

Genesis 12:4-6

[4] Then behold, the word of the LORD came to him, saying, “This man will not be your heir; but one

who will come forth from your own body, he shall be your heir.”

Genesis 12:4-6

[5] And He took him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him,

“So shall your descendants be.” [6] Then he believed in the LORD;

and He reckoned it to him as righteousness.

2) Part of Faith is our Trust

With our heart we must say, “I will lean on that.”

Hebrews 11:8

[8]  By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a

place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not

knowing where he was going.

Hebrews 11:17-19

[17]  By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who

had received the promises was offering up his only begotten son;[18] it was he to whom it was said,

“IN ISAAC YOUR

Hebrews 11:17-19

DESCENDANTS SHALL BE CALLED.” [19] He considered that God is able to raise people even

from the dead, from which he also received him back as a type.

3) Part of Faith is our Obedience

With our will we must say, “I will do that.”

James 2:21-23

[21] Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered

up Isaac his son on the altar? [22] You see that faith was working

with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected;

James 2:21-23

[23] and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “AND ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, AND IT WAS

RECKONED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS,” and he was

called the friend of God.

Romans 1:5

[5] through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the

Gentiles for His name's sake,

John 3:36

[36] “He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not

obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

John 12:42-43

[42] Nevertheless many even of the rulers believed in Him, but because

of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, for fear that they

would be put out of the synagogue; [43] for they loved the approval of

men rather than the approval of God.

James 2:26

[26] For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith

without works is dead.

Matthew 8:10

[10] Now when Jesus heard this, He marveled and said to those

who were following, “Truly I say to you, I have not found such

great faith with anyone in Israel.
