PRAIRIE DOG Live in big connections

of dirt tunnels called towns.

Have a very humanlike relationship when the meet they kiss and nuzzle.

The annual average of precipitation is 50.8 to 88.9 cm

This usually occurs in the late spring early summer.

The U.S grasslands are called prairies.

They are flat and contain tall grass and little to no trees.

BIG BLUESTEM GRASS

Known as turkey grass. Grows to be 3-10 ft. tall.

Used to be the most grass on the land. Was eaten by bison.

BLUE GRAMA GRASS

Takes up about 90% of the grassland.

It dominates the land by taking up all the sunlight making it hard for others to grow.

FLEABANE AND MILKWEED

Fleabane is a weed that is found throughout the prairie. When burned it lets out a oily smoke that repels insects.
