BROADCASTING

PREPARED BY:MARY GRACE O. PEREZBSED II-A

BROADCASTING

The distribution of audio and video content to a dispersed audience via radio, television, or other often digital transmission media. Receiving parties may include the general public or a relatively large subset of thereof.

OBJECTIVES

Creating a framework for rapid economic gain and structural transformation;

Ensuring good governance and security;

Directly increasing the ability of the poor to raise their incomes; and

Directly increasing the quality of life of the poor.

ADVANTAGES

Used to provide information about an event that recently occurred somewhere and which is also important to the people.

People can listen to the talk and lectures of the great thinkers sitting in their rooms.

The whole mankind can know the views of some great philosopher or leader of any country through his own words.

Through special radio programs, classroom lessons of schools and colleges can be supplemented by broadcasting. Even the subjects which are said to be very dry can be made interesting by specialists.

DISADVANTAGES

Digital broadcasting has its own limitation to overcome.

Broadcasters will have to install new transmission equipments, which cause high costs and funding problems.

Some stations can put digital antenna on their current towers, but others must construct a new one.

Also building the broadcast towers is totally influenced by weather because frozen ground, wind and snow might cause serious problems.

GUIDELINES FOR BROADCASTING

Regulation should generally be as ‘light touch’ and minimalist as possible, but robust enough to support the basic concept of freedom of expression, which in turn is a precondition for the effective operation of democracy.

There is no single ‘right’ answer to many of the questions raised by trying to establish an appropriate and effective regulatory system.

It should come as no surprise that, just as much of broadcasting itself is locally oriented, so too are the ‘best’ ways to regulate it.

AIMS

To give information to rurally-situated families which would help improve their lives.

Targets children and serves as away to enrich classroom learning.

To enforce lessons learned in school and are usually entertaining as well as educational.
