BRIEF BIOGRAPHY and CURRICULUM

C L Á U D I A M A T S

She is a Brazilian artist who lives in Portugal. Her work in visual artsis the result of research and reflections about "Art and Territory".Cláudia Matoos develops some interventions in the territory, butthere is also something she conceptualizes as "aesthetics ofrandom". Her paintings aims to reflect about the “Archeology ofAbsence” as a concept which reveals: the presence of absence, thevestiges found in a landscape and the relationship between humanbeing and this place.

Ph.D. in Visual Arts at School of Fine Arts of Federal University of Riode Janeiro - EBA - UFRJ, Brazil, in the research area of Image andCulture. Researcher at the Center for Research and Studies in FineArts at the University of Lisbon - CIEBA. Invited Teacher to teach inthe drawing area at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University ofLisbon, FBAUL – PT (2013-2016) and also to teach in the Masters ofMuseology and Museography. Master of Science of Religion fromFederal University of Juiz de Fora – UFJF, Bachelor of Arts at FederalUniversity of Juiz de Fora – UFJF, Brazil. As an artist, she held severalsolo and collective international exhibitions. She has participated innational and international conferences as a researcher and her areaof operation includes themes in arts, image, territory and BrazilianCulture.
