generation and keep frequency near 60 Hz

• Power flow studies• Drills with Power System Operators

(Dispatchers)• Coordinate with Western Interconnection

• Ensure that system remains stable while re-energizing the system (voltage, current, frequency)

What You Can Do

• Review your company’s Restoration Plan• If you are a coordinating entity, you can view

your company’s copy of BPA’s Restoration Plan (examples of BPA participants are Clark PUD, EWEB, Pacificorp, PGE and Puget Sound)

• How long will it take?– Grid backbone: One Day– Customers: Days or weeks, depending on damage,

including your distribution systems• How can I get information?

– Contact your Provider (Transmission Operator)– Reliability Coordinator– BPA’s Incident Management Team will be in contact
