Welcome to the Moon Over Us
The moon is so bright
It lights up the sky at night
Along with the stars
The sky shines from earth
From earth it looks like a dot
But near the moon you see it takes up a lot
To me it looks like a gem
-- KaylinJ, St. Andrew Romeoville, USA
About the Project
Navigating the "The Moon Over Us iCollaboratory Project",
one realizes that this project is a really successful Global
Dialog with students participating from China, USA and
Brasil. A huge amount of students participate with pages and
comments about the Moon and the significance of this
companion. -- StellanK, Sweden
The moon has been the most significant part of Chinese
culture for a long time. The ancient Chinese established the
precise lunar calendar according to the moon’s revolution.
On 15th August (lunar calendar), there is the mid-autumn

Chinese Moon
Hi, friends, do you see my these 4 pictures about moon? They
look like the same but the time is different! On the first day, at
8:00 pm the full moon is just above the roof of Beijing
Convention Center. But on the second day, when the full moon
climbs up to the same place, the time is 9:00 pm! Then in the
next two days, the same place, the time is 10:00pm and
11:00pm.
It is very interesting! But why? Because moon is very lazy. It gets
up about 1 hour later everyday!
-- Fred Sun, Beijing, China
Fred’s Moon
(This photo is taken by my father!)
