The people take to the streets
Restoration of the Constitutional Order
BACKGROUND
December 2002:
The oil workers movement, upon taking direct and
democratic control of the industry to defeat the technological
sabotage, recover and stabilize production, become aware of
the need to take on the responsibility which they have as the
working class, aimed at the economic, political and social
transformation of the country.
BACKGROUNDOIL INDUSTRY COUP SHUTDOWN
This initiative is a leap forward in the
policy of democratizing higher education,
in accordance with the following Articles:

The Bolivarian Workers University
The Bolivarian Workers University “Jesús
Rivero”, is the organisation of the working
class to generate the knowledge necessary
for the accomplishment of our productive,
political and social practices.
Bringing together into a single process
Education and Work, headed towards the
construction of a socialist society.
How to achieve this?
WHAT ARE WE PROPOSING?
To adopt an integral process of self-training
based on our productive activities, combined
with a humanitarian consciousness for the
generation of scientific and technological
knowledge.
To attain our technological independence asthe essential tool for our national, independent and sovereign development.
With what aim in mind?
VISION
To develop the University as a center of

workers, taking on the management of
Strategic National Industries and propelling
technological sovereignty forward from the
basis of knowledge; to generate the
productive processes necessary for the
economic, social and political transformation
needed for a Socialist Venezuela.
MISSION
To develop and strengthen our revolutionary
awareness as a working class so that, by applying
technological and scientific knowledge, we may
assume direct control of companies and the
production of goods and services necessary to
satisfy the needs of society as a whole; the use of
science and technology to consolidate national
sovereignty and the use of financial resources for
productive investment with the objective of
