An investigation of the electricmeters in New Orleans recentlyshow that out of a total of 7719tested only two were found to berunning fast, 560 were found slowand 115 were not registering at allwhich goes to disprove the fact thatelectric meters become "speeders"as most consumers imagine.

    Obiturary

"Though he were dead yet shall helive." John 11-25.

On Sunday night. Oct. 31, agloom was cast over the entirecommunity, for the Angel of death' had taken from our midst our dear

beloved sister, Davie Day. daughterof William and Judith Ann Cothernand wife of B. W. Day.

On Monday she was followed toher last resting place in ProvidenceCemetery by sorrowing relativesand friend. Rev. E. Dunaway of-ficating at the grave. It seemsShard that one being only thirty-sixyears of age and so full of lifeshould be taken away, but God hada place in one of the many man-sions our Savior has gone to pre-

Spare. "that none could fill butprecious Davie. Weeping husbandand children, morn not for youridol, God in his wisdom and powerordereth all things for the best."She has gone forever from thisearth, but, "is at home in heavenwhere parting comes no more."

None knew her but to love her,we miss her happy presence fromhome and church and, as we shedtears o'er her grave, let us be in-fluenced by her upright character, resolving to lead better lives so asto meet her on that shore of eternalbappiness.

To the grief striken family, wetender our heartfelt sympathy andremind them:We watched her breathing through the

    night

Her breathing soft and lowAs in her breast the wave of life kept

heaving to and fro.For when the morn came dim and sad,

    And chilled with early showers

    Her quiet eyelids closed.

She had another morn than ours.

    Mrs. L J. BOYD.
