Agri-food Requirements elicitation

Online survey dedicated to Horizon 2020 agri-food projects and their needs for Big Data and Big Data Management.

Phone calls/ Skype interviews/ face-to-face meetings.

Interactive sessions in workshops and thematic events for agri-food domain, in order to attract Project Coordinators of agri-food Horizon 2020 projects – ask POs to give us access to related agri-food projects.

Targeted personas in agri-food sector

Persona #1: Project Coordinatoro Works at research center or university labo The majority of funding is coming from ECo Is a researcher/ staff/ research associate/

post-doc at a research center OR a professor/ post-doc at a university lab

o Has experience in past EU funded projects (e.g. FP7).

o Coordinates an Horizon 2020 project or is a Dissemination WP Leader for an Horizon 2020 Project.

Persona #2: Knowledge/ Data Manager

Knowledge/ Data Managero Works in a university or a research institute’s

Library, Knowledge Management Team.o Has worked before in data management plans

for his organizations’ researchers.o Has prepared/ or was asked to prepare data

management OA guidelines for his institution researchers.

o Is participating in Dissemination WP of a Horizon 2020 project OR is the Dissemination WP Leader.

for research & academic institutions carrying out work with funding from the Horizon 2020 framework programmeo domain-specific support on implementation of

EC’s (and other donors) Open Access requirements, Data Management Plans, etc.

o help publishing & linking research outcomes from Horizon 2020 projects (esp. publications, research data sets)

o serve as a hub for disseminating research outcomes to EU and global e-infrastructures (i.e. OpenAIRE, AGRIS)

Water specific: Global Water Pathogens Project - Community

Outcomes Understand & depict the European

research community in agri-food sector. Collect their data requirements. Present the results of the survey in BDE

website (expose the the data to the BDE site through API).

Map the BDE platform features with the needs of the research agri-food community.
