Beta Eta Data A Message from our
President, Lauren Halilej
Fall 2013 Semester Alpha Delta Pi, Beta Eta Newsletter
Dear All,
Hello again! For those of you who don’t remember,
my name is Lauren Halilej and I am the current president
of Beta Eta! This semester at Beta Eta has been filled with
exciting achievements and activities. We held a very
successful recruitment, welcoming 59 new Alpha members
into our chapter. It has been such a joy to meet the new
Alphas and help them see the amazing sisterhood we have
here at Beta Eta. To highlight this sisterhood, we planned
many activities including a trip to the local pumpkin patch,
a sleepover at the house and a retreat for the whole chapter
to bond. Stressing the importance of sisterhood has been
one of the foundations of the Alpha’s education of ADPi,
and we are so pleased that they have become official…

Sisterhood Update! -October 4, 2013, was our annual sisterhood sleepover! That night, we invited all of the new Alphas to sleep over and they watched movies, made headbands, and hung out. The next morning we woke up early to watch the Michigan-Minnesota football game. This event is always a great way for the Alphas to get to know one another! -This October, we also took a trip to a pumpkin patch! We went to Wiard’s Orchard, where we all got to drink cider, pet animals, and go for a hayride! Our pumpkin patch trip is always a great opportunity for sister bonding! -Our chapter retreat was fantastic as well. We went to our local bowling alley, and dressed to the theme “19ADPi”. It was so fun wearing our 80’s clothing while bowling and getting to know all the new Alphas!

Recruitment this year began on September 8. We welcomed home 59 new Alphas! Our bid day theme was “It’s hard to be humble when you’re queen of the jungle”. Our house was decorated with a jungle theme, and we enjoyed decorating cookies, making ADPi plaques, and getting to know all of the new Alphas!
Recruitment Update!
Philanthropy Update! This semester, we held our very first “Diamond Dash”. It was a run that started at our local Ronald McDonald House and ended at the Big House! We encouraged all participants to wear red to support RMH, and all proceeds from the event went to RMH! The event was a big hit, and we can’t wait to do it again next fall!

…members of ADPi as of November 24th, the day of our Initiation! To be able to see them integrate
themselves in the chapter and start to become involved in our accomplishments and achievements is a true
pleasure and I am so proud of all they have done so far for our sorority.
Election season is upon us, and I am happy to announce that Beta Eta elections have finished and we
have a fabulous new president and executive board that will do many great things in the coming months. We
had record-high applications for the 42 positions Beta Eta offers and many qualified candidates. As we turn
towards officer transitions and installations, I am so pleased to be handing the torch to such responsible and
passionate women and I hope all of you will see that reflected in their work for the next calendar year.
I want to take this time to thank you all for keeping up with the events happening at Beta Eta and I
hope you are doing well and staying in the loyalty of Alpha Delta Pi!
Love and Loyally,
Lauren
