Australia is in Oceania (a continent). It is surrounded by the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. There are 6 states in Australia.

In Australia, you can see the biggest reef in the world, the Great Barrier Reef. My friend Nemo lives in an anemone in the middle of the barrier.

This is the Australian flag. It is similar to the United Kingdom flag because Australia was influenced by the United Kingdom.

Canberra is the capital of Australia.

In Canberra, there is a garden festival called Floriade. I love jumping among the flowers.

The prime minister is Scott Morrison. He lives in a big house called The Lodge.

In Australia, we use the Australian dollar. Each note has its own colour.

The face of the Queen of the United Kingdom (Isabel II) is in some coins and notes of the country.

The Sydney Opera House is one of the most famous buildings in the world. There are 1.000 rooms! My favourite place is Lark Quarry Park where you can see the footprints of more than 150 dinosaurs.

One of the most famous food in Australia is Vegemite. It is like jelly with spices. They also like meat pies.

Desserts are delicious in Australia. My favourite food is Fairy bread! It is a cake with sprinkles! I also love Pavlova (a cake covered with cream and fruit).

One of our favourite sport is Cricket. The Cricket is played with a ball and a bat. It is very similar to baseball.

There are different types of landscapes in Australia. The most beautiful landscapes are the jungles. A lot of animals and plants live there. There are more than 12.000 different insects that live in the jungle.

In Australia, there are a lot of different animals. The duck-billed platypus (ornitorrinco) and the koala are the most famous animals in the country. My best friend is a lizard. This type of lizard is called the Thorny Devil Lizard.
