While Activ2Touch (A2T) displays do not support Google Services at this time, apps can be installed via the following method.

Download the APK file

This can be done on a PC/MAC or directly to the Activ2Touch touchscreen itself (if internet connectivity is available).

Download the Aptoide app here:

https://aptoide.en.aptoide.com

From the download page, click the green download button to start the downloading the .APK file.

If you see the below window or a similar prompt, make sure the app is being saved and take note of where the .APK file is being downloaded to (this is usually the ‘downloads’ folder).

Next, copy the file to a USB thumb drive.

Ensure power is connected to the Activ2Touch touchscreen.

Turn on Activ2Touch Touchscreen by pressing the red button on the remote control.

Flick the power button on the left-hand side of the panel (rear).

Insert USB thumb drive containing the Aptoide App (APK) installer into the Media USB port on the front of the panel.

A dialogue box will appear asking if you want to open MM Player. Touch Cancel.

...and then select the folder icon.

Swipe the edge of the panel to display the Quick Menu. Select the four square icon .

Open the drop down menu using the button at the top. Touch the sda1 folder icon.

NB: If you downloaded directly onto the Activ2Touch touchscreen, touch Download to locate the Aptoide installer.

A dialogue box will open. Touch Install.

Find the the Aptoide App in the downloads folder and open installer by touching the icon.

Follow the steps until the App is installed.

A screen will come up showing your installed apps including the The Aptoide App. Tap the Aptoide App icon.

...by using search function and the onscreen keyboard to search for apps.

The App will open and you will then be able to search for and install Android Apps.

Select ‘Apps’. Tap on the app you would like to stop or uninstall.

To stop or uninstall apps, select ‘All apps’ from the home screen and select 'Settings'.

Appendix

Stopping and/or Uninstalling AppsHaving too many apps running at once can affect performance of the Activ2Touch display. Even while not currently showing on the screen, apps can be running in the background and using up resources. If you notice that the A2T display is not performing as usual, please take the following steps to stop or uninstall apps.

Choose ‘Force stop’ or ‘Uninstall’ depending on what you would like to do.

Then select ‘OK'.

If upon installation you encountered the following message, please use the subsequent steps to allow installation of your app.

Troubleshooting

Scroll down to 'Personal' and select ‘Security & Restrictions’.

Select ‘Unknown Sources’, switch to ‘On’ and confirm by selecting ‘OK'.

Open ‘All apps’ from the home screen and select ‘Settings’.
