Well-known Canadian journalist,columnist and military analystGwynne Dyer will speak about cli-mate change at Sheridan College onThursday, March 22.
Dyer will address the long-termimplications of global warming in hislecture, The Climate Wars. The publicis welcome to attend.
A native of Newfoundland whostudied at universities in Canada, theUnited States and the UnitedKingdom, Dyer received his PhD inmilitary and Middle Eastern historyfrom the University of London.
Dyer served in the Canadian,American and British navies. Hetaught military history and war stud-ies for two years at the CanadianForces College in Toronto and forfour years at the Royal MilitaryAcademy in Sandhurst.
Since he left teaching in 1973,Dyer has worked as a freelance jour-nalist, broadcaster and lecturer.
His syndicated columns on inter-national affairs appear in a dozen lan-guages in nearly 200 newspapers pub-lished in more than 40 countriesaround the world.

An anonymous phone call has ledto the arrest of two Oakville residentsin connection with a Marijuana grow-op.
Halton Regional Police say theyreceived the call March 8 reportingthat an occupant of 126 Deane Ave."required assistance."
No one was home when theyarrived at the local home, but policesay they did find a marijuana growoperation in the basement.
The drug and morality bureauthen started an investigation and ashort time later, two people werearrested.
A search warrant was executed andpolice say they seized 69 marijuanaplants at various stages of growth,440 grams of dried marijuana andrelated growing equipment.
Charged with production of a con-trolled substance and possession of acontrolled substance for the purposesof trafficking are Murray Hilton, 46and Doris O’Rourke, 38.
They’re scheduled to appear inMilton court on April 3.
