Dhanni cattle medium draught, compact body, varying colors, mostly white coat & black spots or red or brown spots. Small head and ears. Stumpy horns, small dewlap & hump, yield l000 lit /lact, M wt 450kg 300 kg.

Small size, short structure, white coat, whit black or red spots, short thick horns, small ears, short neck, well-developed hump, black tail end. Small tucked up udder.M wt 350kg Female wt is 250 kg. hardy sure footed, suited for hilly areas

Red Sindhi produce1500-2000lit milk, Male Wt is 400-500kg. Hardy & adopted well under stressful conditions.

Tharparkar name after it origin. Large size with long tapering face, slightly convex forhead, med size upward & out ward horns, large ears. Light grey colour. Tail end is black

Dajal Dera Gazi khan, considered as offshoot of the bahgnari cattle having similar features

Relatively smaller in size, and lighter in colour. Cows are low yielder and males are good for draught work.

How to conserve animal breeds????

4 steps

1. keep nucleus herd of each purebred animals of prevailing species in the province

2. Farmers may be guided to avoid haphazard mating

3. Only proven sire may be used for natural/ AI

4. Avoid grouping of males with female animals during breeding seasons
