Leak Testing Equipment
• ALPS is the global market leader for equipment to leak test plastic containers
• We are seeking continued global expansion by leveraging this experience to maximize the value of leak testing equipment
• Value Proposition #1: Speed and Sensitivity
• Value Proposition #2: Modern Controls
• Value Proposition #3: Ease of Use
• Value Proposition #4: Self Monitoring
• Value Proposition #5: Enhanced Checks
• Please review the next slides offering more detail
5 Main Value Propositions

What To Expect from a Modern Leak Tester

Leak Testing Equipment
• Modern Speed Examples:
a) Single head unit capable of 100 BPM on 0.5L containers (SC Linear model). In the old days this required a 6-station rotary leak tester.
b) 4 heads capable of 250 BPM (Speed-Glider model). In the old days this required a 18-station rotary leak tester.
c) 30 heads capable of 1200 BPM (NexGen Rotary). In the old days this required two 30 head leak testers.
• Hole Size Sensitivity is now down to 0.1mm, the average diameter of a human hair. Old, low tech machines only achieved 1.0mm.

Leak Testing Equipment
Standard Self Test Feature
A Self Test button is accessible on the main screen and setup screens. When the button is pressed, a self test will start at the beginning of the next leak test.
A Self Test will turn on a valve which incorporates a metal orifice (specified by its diameter) into the test volume, simulating a bad container with the equivalent diameter
pinhole. Rejection of the container during a Self Test will verify that the machine is properly set up to detect the specified hole diameter.

LOW sealing force
Value #5: Enhanced Checks
• ALPS had perfected Low Pressure testing to minimize bottle distortion and maximize seal surface sensitivity to enhance the leak test
• This capability has significantly expanded our market into “non traditional” bottle leak testing such as PET (now half of our installed
base) and Injection Blow Molded containers
