SUMMER HOURS The Allen Park Public Library’s hours will be changing after Memorial Day. Our hours will be as follows:
Monday - Friday 10:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. Saturday & Sunday Closed
THANK YOU! Food for Fines/Food For Thought ran from March 20 until April 28. During those six weeks, Allen Park patrons donated 250 pounds of food, which will provide approximately 208 meals to help feed our hungry neighbors! Thank you to everyone who participated. The community of Allen Park is incredibly generous!
Our Summer Reading Program is back with exciting events planned throughout June and July! Registration for the program will begin at our Kick-Off Party on Saturday, June 17 from 11:00 A.M.—2:00 P.M!
Children ages 0-18 are welcome to come to the library to register for the program, as well as enjoy rides on the Choo Choo Express. Bubbleman Ron will also be here entertaining your kids and showing them how to create bubble art! In addition to attending events throughout the program, registrants can earn prizes for time spent reading. There will be 4 Grand Prize baskets in each age group. The Grand Prize baskets include items such as gift cards, goodies, and more! Prizes and completion certificates will be awarded at the Library Carnival on Saturday, July 25 from 11:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M.
If you cannot make it to the kick-off party, registration will be ongoing throughout the entirety of the program. Just stop by the library to register your child(ren)!

EXERCISE YOUR MIND WITH BRAINHQ A recent AARP survey reports 9 in 10 people say brain health is important, but few know how to maintain it. Our brains are at their peak performance at age 27, but through continual learning and challenge we can help remodel our brains and function maximally, so we can lead the life we want.
BrainHQ is an online suite of 29 exercises with 895 levels of training organized around the 6 core cognitive areas of Attention, Brain Speed, Memory, People Skills, Intelligence and Navigation.
Get started by creating your private account with BrainHQ, and light up your brain! Training is available online, or by downloading an app to your iPhone or iPad. The Android app is under development. Go to our website, www.allenparklibrary.org, click on the BrainHQ logo on our home page, and create an account using your valid library card number and pin.
