Message

It is heartening to share that Chhattisgarh has initiated a newholistic model of sustainable agricultural growth and ruraldevelopment by harnessing traditional practices, hyperlocal resourcesand indigenous technologies through it’s flagship program,“NARWA-GARWA-GHURUWA-BARI”(NGGB). I acknowledgethat time has come for the nation and the state to see a great degreeof cohesion among talent and technology from a venture point ofview. I am joyful to see the theme of 5th National Youth Conventionjointly organized by IGKV, ICAR & AIASA addressing the nationalissue of agri-innovation and entrepreneurship.

I congratulate and acknowledge the significant contributionsof IGKV, Raipur fraternity in promoting and upscaling the state’sagriculture with an aim to ensure farmers’ prosperity on34th Foundation Day. FOREWORD

About Us...AIASA is a professional organization of present and former students in the field of

Agriculture, Veterinary, Dairy, and horticulture, fisheries, forestry, Home science, sericulture,

ABM and other allied sciences, registered under Societies Registration Act 1860.

The Association was formally launched on 10th May, 2011 by the then Hon’ble Union

Minister of State for Agriculture during the All India Convention on Agricultural Administrative

Reforms and the website was launched by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture on the

occasion of 87th ICAR Foundation Day on 25th-26th July, 2015 at Patna, Bihar. The Society

was registered on 1st Dec 2011 under the Societies Registration Act 1860, with the approval of

Ministry of Agriculture, ICAR and Ministry of Consumer Affairs. Down the course of time, the

drift between the technical work force and bureaucracy has increased abysmally harming the

cause of farming sector and farmers at the national and state level. Policy making in agriculture

has been largely limited to subsidies and loan disbursement, with negligible component of

science in it. AIASA envisions a common platform where Agriculturists/technocrats and

Bureaucrats will work together for the Indian agriculture with a “right person at right place”

mode, to promote more application of science which is often left back. AIASA is established

with the prime motto to bridge the drift and strengthen the voice of the agriculturalists,

veterinarians, fishery experts and personnel of all allied fields at states, national and international

levels.

AIASA advocates for resolving the long pending issues of creation of the All India Cadre

of “Indian Agriculture Service” for appointment of right person at the right place and grant of

professional status to agriculture sector at par with other professions for better job opportunities

and career advancement of the personnel serving the primary sector.

The Society is covered for exemption from Income Tax u/s 80G(5)(vi) vide Order no

DELAE27111-19092016 dated 19.09.2016.

Aims and Objectives

To promote National Integration, Patriotism, Communal Harmony with the development of

leadership among members. To facilitate and foster the bond between the students & professionals (Teachers, Scientists,

Technical officials and Farmers /entrepreneurs). Professional status to Agriculture sector and to establish Agriculture Council of India (ACI)

with need based administrative reforms. Creation of Central/Indian Agriculture Services.

Granting UPSC status to ASRB for recruitment under Indian Agriculture Services.

To make efforts for improving the job opportunities by having specialized cadre for agriculture

services in center & state.

Introduction of Agriculture course in CBSE, ICSE and state boards at school levels.

Granting Fellowship to Agricos on par with UGC, CSIR, DST etc. fellowships. To represent the students in the national and international policy making body. To eradicate bureaucratic interference and corruption at all the levels and strive for introducing

transparent system. To find out immediate solution for all problems which may jeopardize the common interest of

the members by meeting, discussion and other democratic ways to the concerned authorities

and act as a communicator to authorities/govt.

Attracting and retaining youth in agriculture.

To make efforts for advancement of agricultural research, education, extension, agricultural

trade and development activities and other policy issues for promoting sustainable production

and productivity including conservation & judicious use of natural

resources.

To make effort and convince the higher authority for restructuring the entire agricultural

administrative system/set up at par with other professions, which remain as it was since its

inception in the pre Independence era.

Mission Empowering youth in agriculture for development of agriculture and the nation.

Vision To foster the bond between agricultural students & professionals and to raise the voice for

techno-administrative agriculture reforms including creation of Indian Agricultural Services and advancement in agriculture by involvement of agriculturists in policy formulation and implementation.

In pursuance of the communication no. 4-4/AIASA/2019 dated 30.10.2019, the returning officer invited nominations for conducting elections for various office bearers of Governing Body of the Association (AIASA) as perdetails given in clause 9(i) of the constitution of AIASA, for the year 2020 vide Notification dated 1.11.2019. The last date of receipt of nominations was kept 25.11.2019 and withdrawal date 27.11.2019. Based on the request of 5 states and on the recommendations of election sub committee, the last date of submission of nominations was extended upto 16th December, 2019. The nominations of major states such as Assam, HP, Uttarakhand, UP, Odisha, Delhi, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat, MP, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh were received with in the prescribed period. The nominations of 5 states namely Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Nagaland, Tripura received during the extended period. The election sub committee and returning officer scrutinized all the nominations and considered the nominations based on the eligibility and suitability parameters prescribed in the election notification. Based on the scruitinty of nominations, there is no requirement of election. Accordingly, the following persons are hereby declared as elected Governing Body Members/Cabinet Members of AIASA including States cabinets AIASA for the year 2020 (01.01.2020 to 31.12.2020). The various cells i.e NACC, IT cell, NAEC, NWEC, KKM, NCGC, ICC, NABIIC, NCGPC, NATC, NEB are also notified.

National Conference on Smart Agriculture and Food Security

National Conference on Smart Agriculture and Food Security was successfully jointly organized by Jaipur National University and AIASA Rajasthan unit from 18-20 January, 2019. Large number of experts from Central and State Department of Agriculture, ICAR, SAUs, NABARD, United India Insurance, agro based industries, innovative farmers, NGOs, Agriculture students throughout India participated in the conference.

Agriculture in the 21st century is more than subsistence farming. It has to be more productive,

profitable and sustainable. As our population is increasing and resources are shrinking, this

sector needs an integrated approach and various structural reforms to deal with the agrarian

crisis. A sustainable food and agriculture system is a collaborative network that integrates several

components in order to enhance a community’s environmental, economic and social well-being.

Agriculture must not be seen only as a profession, but it is more of personal commitment and

dedication to serve the human community by eliminating hunger, malnutrition and poverty. With

this aim, 4th National Youth Convention on “Federating Agri-Youth in Business group for

Remunarative Agriculture” was organized by the All India Agricultural Students Association

(AIASA), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), and Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishva

Vidhyalaya, Jabalpur (M.P.) at Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishva Vidhyalaya, Jabalpur (M.P.)

India from 15th to 16th February, 2019. The Convention was supported by Government of India,

Ministry of Agriculture, NABARD, CUTM and other organizations. There were five technical

sessions on the topics of national importance in youth perspective which mainly includes i)

Revitalization of Agriculture as Business Industry, ii) Value Chain Management in Agro -

Commodities, iii) Restructuring and Strengthening Resources for Capacity Building and Skill

Development, iv) Strategies for Empowering Youth for Their Involvement in Establishing

Agribusiness ventures to Create Job Opportunities and v) Policy Reforms for Remunerative

Agriculture.

Besides technical sessions, other functions such as poster session, inaugural ceremony, cultural

program, valedictory session, oath taking ceremony, award distribution ceremony and annual

general body meeting were also conducted in the Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel auditorium of

JNKVV Jabalpur.

International Women Day Celebration

The International Women Day organized on 8th March 2019 by different AIASA unit s at Delhi,

Bhagalpur, Jabalpur etc. to show importance of women in life and without their support and

commitment country can not develop.

National Seminar on Sustainable Agriculture

National Seminar on Sustainable Agriculture was jointly conducted by AIASA Kerala and Kerala Agricultural University from 6th - 7th April, 2019 at College of Agriculture, Padannakkad, Kerala. During AIASA Kerala Summit, AIASA Kerala website inaug urated and brochure related to job fair and JRF/SRF mock test were released.

AIASA Tamil Nadu organized National Conference on Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Livelihoods” on April 26-27, 2019 at Annamalai

University TN AIASA and Faculty of Agriculture, Annamalai University organised National conference on “Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Livelihoods” on April 26 & 27, 2019 at Annamalai University. Around 600 students and faculty members around the India participated and presented their research papers. Dr.Saravanan Raj, Director, National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management was the chief guest of this conference. On behalf of AIASA Dr. P. Adhiguru, Principal Scientist, ICAR, New Delhi and Dr. R. Vinoth, National Secretary, AIASA participated as chief guest and presented AIASA activities. Registrar, Annamalai University and Dean Faculty of Agriculture distributed best paper presentation Award during valedictory function. An edited book on “Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Livelihoods” was also released as a part of this event.

The outcome of the conference were:

1. Creation of new farm tourism ventures across the nature as a new form of entrepreneurship integrating various farm components to generate more employment and income in rural areas

2. Development of three pillars of farming, namely, technology, policy change and creation of new institutional mechanisms to incorporate sustainable agriculture in rural livelihoods.

3. Development of secondary farm areas like food processing and agricultural marketing in village areas to handle situation of feminization and preventing transition from rural to urban area.

Biotic Science Congress (BioScon) – 2019: National conference on “Challenges and Innovative Approaches in Agriculture and Allied Sciences

Research”

The Society for Biotic & Environmental Research (SBER), Tripura jointly organised Biotic Science Congress (BioScon) – 2019: National conference on “Challenges and Innovative Approaches in Agriculture and Allied Sciences Research” with All India Agricultural Students Association, New Delhi, RSRS, Central Silk Board, MoT, Govt. of India, Tamil Nadu , Periyar University, Salem, Tamil Nadu and Society for Advancement of Agril. Innovations (SAAI), Tripura on 26th & 27th , July 2019 at Sona college Arts & Science, Tamil Nadu. This conference inaugurated by Dr. P. Kolandaivel, Vice Chancellor, Periyar Univerisy, Dr.R. S. Teotia, Director, CSR&TI and Dr. B. Vasantharaj Devid. On behalf of AIASA Dr. R. Vinoth, National Secretary (GC) and Sourav Choudhury, Chief Coordinator were participated and presented Research paper and about AIASA activities during this conference. Around 700 participants and delegates were participated from various part of India during this conference.

AIASA Campus Drive during NAHEP Students Convention (26.03.2019)

AIASA interaction session cum membership drive was organised at CIFE, Mumbai on 26/03/2019. During the interaction session, Mr. Sharat S. Yeligar, National President , AIASA & Mr. Tapas Paul, National Vice President (WZ) zone was present as AIASA representative. They enlighten the activities of AIASA for Agricos in the north-eastern zone by raising their demands in national level.

National Interaction Session of AIASA-Fisheries chapter with student representatives of 25 Fisheries colleges

A National interaction session of AIASA-Fisheries chapter with student representatives of 25 Fisheries colleges of India was held at ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai on the occasion of 3rd National students convention. The program was organized by AIASA-CIFE unit with collaboration of PFGF and CIFE-PGSSU. The program was presided by Mr. Tapas Paul Joint Secretary, West

Zone, Mr. Sutanu Karmakar, Vice -chairman-west zone, Agri-Business Incubation cell, Mr. Sandeep S, University President, CIFE, Mr. Chinmaya Nanda, College secretary, Dr. Mujahid Khan Pathan, Treasurer, PFGF and Mr. M Ihjan, College Coordinator as AIASA representatives. Dr. B.B.Nayak, Principal Scientist & HoD and General Secretary, PFGF were also present in the program. During the program, AIASA cabinet members have explained the aims and objectives of AIASA in brief and its role at national level. They have given a proforma to student representatives of all fisheries colleges for collecting baseline information about each college. Students from all the colleges have shown their keen interest as being a part of AIASA and expressed their positive response. The Program ended by concluding speech of Mr. Ashutosh Singh, President, & Mr. Prasanta Jana, General Secretary, CIFE-PGSSU who thanked all the college representatives for their active participation in this interaction session.

AIASA Karnataka Unit organized sensitization cum orientation regarding AIASA and Career advancement for Agricultural Professionals Workshops on 20th September, 2019 at College of Agriculture, UAS, Dharwad. Workshops successfully carried out by Dr. Vijay Krunalikar, State Advisor AIASA, and Mr. Praveen Kote, State president, AIASA, Karnataka. Praveen Kote elaborated the AIASA activities in state during the workshops and encourages the students to be a part of AIASA.

Blood Donation Camp by AIASA UP on 2nd OCTOBER 2019, on BAPU’S

150th Birth Aniversary AIASA UP unit organized a blood donation camp on the occasion of the 150 th birth anniversary

of Mahatma Gandhi dated on 2nd October 2019 under leadership of State President Mr.

Saurabh Singh and team AIASA Uttar Pradesh along with Prashant Foundation at CSA Kanpur.

National Level Quiz Competition on Crop Productivity and Stree Management on 17th Nov., 2019, held at CSAUAT, Kanpur

The nanional level quiz compititon - 2019 for the students and the research fellows was

organized at the college of agriculture, CSAUAT, Kanpur (U.P.) on 17 th November, 2019, under

the aegis of the Indian Society of Plant Psychology (ISPP), New Delhi and technical

collaboration with AIASA, New Delhi. On this occasion, talks were delivered by the Dr.

Sahadeva Singh, Chief Policy Advisor AIASA; Sudhir Kumar Jha, Scientist, IIPR- Kanpur, Ex-

National President, AIASA and Mr. Saurabh Singh, State President, Uttar Pradesh.

AIASA Fisheries Chapter AIASA Fisheries raised the issues of eligibility of degree in fisheries for fisheries posts in

various Departments/organizations in States. Due to effort of AIASA, fisheries students of

Andhra Pradesh got benifitted with their resolution for the post of Fishries Development Officer

(FDO). The official gazette came in favour of B.F.Sc. student. The other State Governments also

initiated processes for amendment of recruitment rules.

the Job Fair and Career Orientation Program

“Career Opportunities and Preperation Strategies for

UPSC/CGPSC Examination by AIASA ChhattisgarhAIASA CG arranged a wonderful career oriented workshop for students in IGKV Campus on

dated 12th July, 2019 having a topic “CARRER OPPORTUNITIESAND PREPARATION

STRATEGIES FOR UPSC/CGPSC EXAMINATION”. The lead speaker of the session was Mr.

Sadanand Kumar (IPS), SP (EOW) Raipur who gave a beneficial and fruitful presentation to the

students. Presentation was quite helpful for the students in building their carrier. Worskshop was

successfully organized by Mr. love kumar, VP Central Zone, and Abhishek Upadhyay, State

President CG, Vikas Lunawat and Mr. Gajendra Tomar, Advisor AIASA .

AIASA Central Cabinet meeeting for discussion of

Agriculutre issue The AIASA Central cabinet met with Hon’ble Minister of State for Agriculture, Sh Kailash

Choudhary on 29.11.2019. Important issues such as ICAR accreditation, ARS eligibility and

other agri issue were discussed and memorandum submitted on various issues. Hon'ble Minister

very kindly agreed to look into all issues.

AIASA delegation interacted with Hon'ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Mr. Mukesh

Rajput on 29.11.2019 and discussed various issues including role of AIASA in nation building.

Hon'ble MP assured full support to AIASA.

Pre budget consultation 2020 meeting on Agriculture Supply Chain, Input Cost and Crop

Insurance was held on 24.12.2019 and suggestions were delivedrd by Mr. Ashish Khandelwal,

Chief Coordinated, AIASA among the different stakeholders and hard copy also submitted to Sh.

Gopal Agarwal, Economic Advisor. The major suggestion were creation of National Agriculture

e-Market, Provision for budget to set up agri-business/industry at cluster level, capacity building

program for skill development, strengthening of input delivery system such as Kisan Kiosk,

Custom hiring, Provision of Rs 10000 from agri cess amount for infrastructure purpose.

AIASA Invited for Pre Budget Consultation meeting

ICAR JRF Entomology Campaign Programme 2019

ICAR JRF Campaign Programme had been conducted for about 10 days from 03.06.2019 to

12.06.2019. The campaign was co-ordinately organized by RVS Agriculture College, TNAU,

Thanjavur & All India Agricultural Students Association (AIASA - TN) and was held at RVS

Agriculture College, Thanjavur. In this camp, about 15 students from both constituent and

affiliated campuses of TNAU were taken part in the campaign and got benefited. Among them

13 students have been selected for Post Graduate degree programme at various

Universities/Institutes across the country.
