EGIS KNOW-HOW
Egis Airport Operation Since 1996, has been the technical partner of reference for the airport of Abidjan, the government having restated its confidence in Egis with renewal of the concession in 2010 for a further period of 20 years. In this role Egis will accompany the development of the airport by bringing its know-how in the fields of management, operations as well as strategy for the development of traffic (route development), whether this be through providing key airport personnel or by bringing specific expertise.
Stepping in as the engineering specialist Egis is an integral part of an ambitious program of investment in the airport, whether it is for design and supervision of infrastructure works or advice with regards the choice of equipment.
Egis has initiated an airport city “Aérocité” in Abidjan. Egis led all the studies regarding the design and programme of the master plan. The government of Côte d’Ivoire will pursue the Aérocité project.

CÔTE D’IVOIRE
With almost 1.6 million passengers in 2015 (+33% in 2 years) Abidjan international airport is on its way to re-establishing itself as the natural hub of West Africa. The airport is benefiting from the strong economic recovery of the Côte d’Ivoire, following a major political crisis, and the strong development of Air Côte d’Ivoire, based at Abidjan airport.
Modern facilities have helped make the airport a platform of reference in West Africa. Abidjan is the 2nd airport in Africa to handle the Air France A380 scheduled flights (following Johannesburg).
In order to develop the hub activity, Abidjan International Airport obtained in 2015 the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) certification which will allow direct flights between Abidjan and the US as required by the American regulation.
