Overview of Aadhaar
• UIDAI was established by Govt. of India in 2009 as attachedoffice under the then Planning Commission (now NITI Aayog)
• Aadhaar ensures Uniqueness through biometric attributes(Fingerprint/ Iris)
• 93 Crore Aadhaar numbers issued as on date
• Aadhaar Saturation among Adult population is more than 93%
• Services offered are “Authentication” and “e-KYC”
• Online authentication platform is capable of handling 10 Croretransactions per day
• Since inception of Aadhaar authentication services, almost 100Crore Aadhaar Authentication transactions have taken placeincluding 5.3 Crore eKYC transactions

• Out of 16.12 crore Beneficiaries, 60% have been seededwith Aadhaar
• Almost 5 Crore Transactions every month over APB
• 57.55 Crore Transactions using Aadhaar Payment Bridge(APB) so far
• Almost Rs 15,959 Crore have been transferred using APB
• 36.7% of beneficiaries getting subsidy through AccountBased Transfer
• Failure rate of account based transfer is 6 times more thanthat of using APB (0.87% compared to 0.15% on Aadhaar)

• AIIMS launched Aadhaar based online registration and appointment portal on 11th June 2015
• Patient can now register online and take an appointment using Aadhaar based OTP authentication

– Ease of OPD Registration, scheduling appointment
– Less waiting time
– Money & Time saving for multiple visits to hospital
• Benefits to AIIMS:
– Increased trust due to transparent online system & use of Aadhaar as Unique Identifier in the database
– Easy queue management

• Resident can download the application on mobile
• Presently available on Android 4.0 and above
• Strong linkage between Aadhaar profile on mobile device and Registered mobile number
o Profile can be created only on mobile devices having registered mobile number
o Change of original SIM card will disable the local profile
• Using Aadhaar Mobile App, one can downloadhis/her Aadhaar Number, Demographic informationand Photograph from CIDR subsequent to necessaryverification
