The Blessings of God upon the

FamilySeminar

3 John 2

“Dear friend I pray that you may enjoy good health and

that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting

along well.”

Getting to Know the Blessings• Love defined: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”

Marriage is a Blessing• God’s purpose for marriage was to bring happiness to

the family.

Adam and Eve (Genesis 1)• (vs. 26) God’s character was reproduced in both of them.• (vs. 27) God created marriage for the couple to live in

perfect harmony.• (vs. 28) They were placed by God as kings over all

creation.• (vs. 29) They were taught the principle of sowing and

reaping.• (vs. 30) They were given provision.

Proverbs 10:22• “The blessing of the Lord makes a

person rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.” (NLT)

• God gave us all things in abundance for us and for our enjoyment.

God is the Father of Abundance

1 Corinthians 2:9

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those

who love Him.”

God wants to bless YOU!• The blessing of God is tied to

obeying His Word. (Duet. 28:1-14)–To receive every blessing (v.2)

–Be blessed wherever you go (v.3)

–Blessing will be upon your children, neighborhood and work. (v.4)

–All your activities will be blessed (v.5)

–You will always overcome your problems (v.7)

–Whatever you do, God’s blessing will be there (v.8)

–Blessed in ministry (v.9)

–He will lift you up & give you honor (v.10)

–You will be blessed wherever you live (v.11)

–You will be able to bless other with money (Business, investments) (v.12)

–You will have authority and be in places of honor (v.13)

Jesus Redeemed us from the Curse of Ruin!• Curses are just as real as blessings– Not obeying God exposes us too

curses.

• Jesus set us free from all these things, don’t be satisfied living under them anymore.

• There are four times more curses than blessings.

Deuteronomy 28:16-68• Curses will…–Find you wherever you are (v.16)–Steal your families provision and supplies

(v.17)– It affects your children, contaminates the

places you live and stops production in your work (v.18)–Bring instability to your life (v.19)–Affect your health emotionally and physically

(v.20)

–Death surrounds you & your family (v.21)–Every type of sickness will attack you

(v.22)–Heaven will not listen, the earth will not

respond to you. (v.23)–The whole territory will be dry & arid.

(v.24)–You will not be able to stand up for

yourself & will flee all the time. (v.25)–Mental crisis, lack of vision & spiritual

confusion will be the norm. (v.28)

–You will be far from prosperity but near to oppression. (v.29)

– Lose your family & home (v.30)

–Your children will be trapped in vices & you will not be able to help them. (v.32)

–Others will enjoy what you have worked for. (v.33)

–No one will want to imitate you. (v.37)

–You will not see the fruit of your ministry. (v.38-43)

–You will live enslaved to debt. (v.44)

–You will be affected by ungratefulness. (v.47)–You will live in absolute poverty. (v.48)–Your ministry will decrease until it

disappears.(v.62)–Evil will find you no everywhere. (v.65)–Uncertainty, fear & insecurity will be

permanent in your life. (v.66)–You will be very inconsistent and unreliable.

(v.67)–You will go back to the world thinking that it

will end your problems, but you will find that no one cares about you. (v.68)

The Cross: Our Place of Victory• Galatians 3:13 “But Christ has rescued us

from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures, “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”

• 2 Cor. 8:9 “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 “For it is by grace you have

been saved through faith; and this not from yourselves

it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can

boast.”

Galatians 3:14 “Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the

Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, so that

we who are believers might receive the promised Holy Spirit

through faith.”

We are Heirs of the Blessing of Abraham
