Amazon Sites Still Work

• Small “micro” sites don’t work

• eCommerce style sites can work, but not really recommended.

• You can still choose one small/narrow niche, but the site needs to be larger.

• Best case scenario, choose a site that has 2-3 subniches or categories.

safety razors, strops, brushes, bowls etc

• Guitar site that covers amps, leads, strings, fx pedals etc.

• Site that just covers one topic: Climbing harnesses, but the site is still 30-50 posts long.

• You need a mix of “money” keywords and info keywords.

• You don’t need to find a “new” untapped niche with zero competition.

• The sweet spot is low competition and decent interest.

• KWFinder, Long Tail Pro, SeCockpit best options.

Tips for using a tool:

• Start broad and go narrow as you dig deeper.

• Explore the “best” and “review” keywords first.

• Look for 500 monthly searches minimum

• Look for a potential “main keyword” that has several related keywords that are also viable. Don’t build a site around one keyword.

• Remember: Keyword Research is there to tell you which search phrases to target and how competitive a niche is. You’re not going to go all in on a niche just because you find one “OMG!” keyword.

KW Competition• Try not to rely on “Keyword Difficulty” scores. Use

them as a rough guide, but rely on manual analysis.• Best case scenario: 2-3 other sites on page 1 are

affiliate sites. Too many = A lot of other link builders doing the same as you. Too few = Google doesn’t want to rank affiliate sites.

• Avoid: Keywords with too many “eCommerce” sites, keywords with large authority sites.

• Great: Keywords where a few forums or EMDs are on page 1.

Niche Demand• Search volumes across multiple keywords.

• JungleScout (or manual BSR + review checking)

• Google Trends (but be wary)

• Your gut feeling

Product Research• Are there lots of products and related

products on Amazon?

• Are the prices good? ($50-150)

• Are sales volumes good? (BSR)

• Are people leaving decent reviews?

• Will people buy them online?

• Are there lot’s of “info” keywords too?

• Can you branch out later?

• Can you find a few forums and/or affiliate sites to reverse engineer?

• Will you find resistance in a lot of keywords? (Most keywords are hard but only 1-2 are good).

• Main articles: 2,000 words plus

• Aim to get to 30-40 articles asap.
