3 Strategies for Writing a Book

michaeljamesfitzgerald

Writing a book requires . . .

Vision and hope

Patience and perseverance

Forgiving yourself, your critics, and the clock

Defeat writer’s block and the feeling that …

A special blend of creativity and “stupidity”

Being ridiculous, able to laugh at yourself, and have a lot of fun!

Dislike of television, and any other excuse for not writing

Write it!

BIC, HOK! [Bum in chair, hands on keyboard]

An experienced writer has a pace of about two pages per hour

That means she can write 70,000 words in about 120 hours

Blog it!

Repackage a series of blog posts on a specific topic or genre

Transcribe it!

Dictate and create a draft, fast!

Use talking points, not a strict outline

At 100 words per minute, you can dictate 70,000 words in approximately 12 hours

But you’ll need a transcriptionist and heavy editing

Writing a book is about . . .

Having a dream

Having a plan and not worrying much about having to adjust that plan along the way

Creating a consistent, daily pace

Believing in yourself and

never giving up!

Thank you!
